They really dont have any choice. Their Armed Forced are Russian orientated ever since the Soviets and there still isnt any alternative. They are trying to buy as much Turkish weaponry as possible but our defence industry has yet to reach a production capacity to supply big toys to Azeri's. We tried to sell them Firtina SPH and T-129's helo's but ofcourse since the engine are foreign the sales get blocked. As soon as Turkey develops and finishes its own engine family, war wont be far away between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

For example there are already reports of the Azeri military being interested in the Altay tank but the engine is German which has santioned Azerbaijan and refuses to sell any weaponry to them. Self reliance and domestic is truelly the way to go.
