Bosnian Army during the war 1992-1995- even though heavily outmatched and suppressed by both sides ( Serbs to east, north, southeast) and Croats ( west, northwest, southwest). The Army has a unjust international embargo imposed on the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which meant the army had to take weapons from the enemy and or smuggle weapons to continue fighting. The Serbs had thousands of volunteers ( Russians, Greeks, Romanians, etc.) come to fight the Muslims, and the Croats had thousands of Germans, French, Italian, etc. come on their side. Ultimately the Bosniaks, even though left alone and a small peoples showed that we are fierce and kicked some serious a$$ in the war, sometimes taking knives and charging into the trenches

Long story short, the Bosnian state survived, even though injured.

What was behind Juka Prazina's defection to HVO forces in 1993?

I remember hearing stories about him kicking Serb & yugoslav people's army A$$ left, right and center during the early stages of the war.

He wanted to be a senior member of the ARBIH but was rejected due to his past criminal background and disagreement with the president and military top commanders on tactics - he wanted to be more assertive with missions and the way he conducted them in a ruthless way - so in spite he went to HVO but didn't last there long.
