Yes, because posting random pictures from the internet is very credible when supporting your argument. Which Supa Dupa university did you get your Phd in cultural studies from?

Karachiites seem to be the only ones who suffer from this "crisis". Even the writers who bring such stuff up are usually karachiites. So I am not surprised you are suffering from a crisis, a community that still calls itself migrants after nearly 3 generations is bound to have their eggs scrambled.

I don't know about the OP, but I grew up with "muhajirs" and have family relations also. They are one of the most anti Indian ethnic group I have come across in Pakistan. I seriously think the OP is a troll.

.
south indian??

are you an idiot... i know more about syria than you... how much do you know of pakistani socialism??

Pakistani socialism? What is that??? Pakistanis are a capitalistic people...the curse of socialism was tried by Z.A. Bhutto and it failed miserably.

Religion and Culture are two different things..
India believe the Culture is the bond that brings people together..whereas pakistan believe that it's the religion that brings people together.
pakistanis have similar culture to that of Indian , which they are trying hard to 'escape', and adopt the arabian cilture, but the arabs don't consider them , as u said, equal to them, even being of the same religion..
The Plight of pakistanis is well summed in the well accepted proverb
.." dhobi ka kutta... na ghar ka na ghat ka..."
:coffee:

quite possibly the most generalized and flawed argument i've seen on this thread....

indians dont even all share the same culture with eachother....if they did, you wouldnt have caste system or regional rivalries (or communal for that matter)

Why do uindians try to relate pakistanis to them. When doesur obsession with pakistan is gonna end?Tell me any similarity with u people???

it never ends and never will.....

pakistani marriage - Google Search

I found very few Pakistani marriages on lines of Arabs or Persians. I may be wrong and neither do I have PhD in culture. I am an engineer from IIT and aspire to do an MBA.

Pakistan and India HAD the same culture. Now we are almost totally different, except some extra liberal Pakistani households. Pakistan has made a conscious decision to switch from 'Namaskar' to Khoda Hafiz to Allah Hafiz. Let's respect that. Today we are entirely two different cultures with a shared history. As time progresses the difference will increase. If you want to stress so hard on similarities - remember that Indians and Russians also die and rot the same way. That's all. The difference between a Muslim country and a non Muslim country is obvious. Don't be fooled by the soaps you see and Indian dramas that show Pakistanis (as ex Indians)... Times have changed. They have changed. It is time we accept it.

I have lived in the US since I was 17 and I find myself having a lot more in common with indians and begalis then I do with arabs. Here in florida we have a large palestinian and syrian population and I know some people in those communities but I really dont think we have much in common with them. Even the masjids are divided. The one I go to is mainly pakistanis and muslims from india and bangladesh. Its rare to find any arabs there.

.
?????? Did I miss something?

quite a lot... most cultural practices ( right or wrong ) that pakistanis/indian-muslims conduct are those retained from pre-islam time or their pre-conversion time... so the op is right that his pakistani muslims have more common with hinduism than anything else.

he writes of a real issue.
Bro this is not the issue! we are clear with our customs and our culture, this guy is just trolling here.

Our marriages were never like this at the first place the sole problem is the media which has imposed this indian shyt onto us. But still if you look closely they are quite different. You guys have tons of customs which we dont have in our marriages.
And apart from these marriages we dont have anything related to each other. Our way of thinking, our society behaviour, our customs, our believes are all different from indians. So plz dont dont relate us with your being, we really dont like to be call our self to be indian.

The reason you didn't find any wedding ceremonies in line with arabs or Persians is because we are not Arabs or Persians. Did you ever think about that?

We don't. Most of us don't. Some sentimental folks do thing you as ex Indians. You were the same as us some time ago, but not anymore. Peaceniks are idealists and they don't want to understand the reality. :tsk:
