Just came across this random youtube video where a Chinese origin American expressing his disgust about fascism in American society. Its exactly the same situation (actually worse) in India where minorities are constantly looked upon as "anti-national". And I would say trend is also creeping in main land europe where Muslims are getting marginalised. All this happening in so called "democracies".

Is it about time to name and shame the "democracy" itself?

. . .
Chinese are treated worst than this in China?

how many died during Cultural revolution?

You replace this Chinese origin gentleman in video with Indian Muslim, there wont be an iota of difference. So called two biggest democracies of the world.

Definitely agree. Cambridge Analytica said that facts don't win election, hopes and fears win election. You exploit issue whatever you need to win.

That is the sad reality. Modern day democracy has morphed itself into a hydra which fed on fear mongering.

What is worst, democracy in this day and age, despite knowing all these facts is still marketed as the best thing ever happened to mankind. Left wing controlled media throughout, (atleast in Pakistan) cant get enough of selling this phenomena to local population as some do or die situation, a must have!

Bottom line is, any system of governance , including democracy will flourish if it serves justice and equality (may include just distribution of wealth). Otherwise, its just a fancy name, nothing more.

This is what happened to the Roman Republic. democracy might work well on the small scale but on the big scale it eventually becomes populism which becomes a dictatorship.

Democracy is nothing but a way to gain power. Whether this power is used to protect liberty or not is a separate story.
