Apple Launches A Credit Card

We are trying very hard to bring PayPal in Pakistan by Petition, Contacting PayPal, PayPal CEO, Finance Minister Asad Umar, State Bank via Citizen Portal,

Lot of PayPal staff in south asian region is from India, may be due to this they donot want PayPal to come in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

On one email reply, they said they are trying hard to expand the PayPal to other countries, but it also depends on Pakistani Banks they interested with PayPal to work or not,

on other email reply the said they discuss with senior management to launch paypal in Pakistan, but we can not give time frame...

Well I truly hope Pakistan gets PayPal soon.

Well I guess it’s safe to say you’re a big fan of Apple then eh?

I don’t know if I’d open an account with them if they were a bank, but I am enjoying my very first iPhone though.
No, I actually prefer Android, have an Android device after all.

I'm saying this because Apple has been more stable and has a much better customer service than many banks, in my opinion.

Android is my preferred operating system, but I must admit, iOS runs buttery smooth. Definitely an advantage when you control the hardware and the software of the device.

I agree with you about Apple customer service.

Actually that will negatively affect your credit score. I heard using up to 20% of your total credit limit each month is the best way to keep a good credit rating.

there is an age limit after that you don't give a shit about credit history, when I get into bill dispute with any company and now refuse to pay their bill unless they correct it and the bully as most companies have becomes these days their threat is we will report to credit bureau and my reply "you think I give s shit about credit bureau at 55 i have taken all the credits i ever needed now I am even beyond the paying phase"

.
Yep, no fees.

1% on all physical transactions, 2% using Apple Pay and 3% on Apple Products.

Sounds like the best cash-back credit card out there.
Not really the best credit card in terms of cash back. There are better ones out there. As a physical credit card it only offers 1% cashback. U have to have an iPhone and use apple pay and even then it barely jumps to 2%. There are much better options if u r looking for cashback. Though I will probably still get this Apple Credit Card just bcuz its titanium and looks super awesome.

Very first iPhone? So u must've just switched over after being on android for a while. I just went the opposite way. I had been going from iPhone to iPhone with each iteration ever since the first one came out...and now i have a Galaxy S10. There are things I like about my galaxy s10...and there are things I miss from my iphone...if only they could merge somehow.

Yep, I had been on android since 2010. Big fan of the galaxy note series especially.

But I was never a fan boy though. Which is why even though I like android more still, I have to admit the iPhone is a nice device.

If I wasn’t on an iPhone now, I would definitely have a galaxy S10. Judging by all the reviews and vids on YouTube, it’s a monster phone, and I can see why so many people like it.

I’m on the XR now. As I mentioned in my previous post, iOS runs buttery smooth for the most part. I just miss the openness of android. I miss being able to tweak my phone to exactly how I like it.

I've never been a fanboy either. I got the first iPhone bcuz that was the best one then...and so did my family...after that it became more of a ecosystem thing as far as imessages, facetime, lightning charger commonality with family etc...so I stuck with it.

Eventually though Apple started lagging behind its competitors...and I've been wanting to switch ever since iPhone 7 days. S10 finally convinced me to switch to android. There are a few things I dont like but a lot of things that i do like so I'm gonna stick to android for a while.

As for ur iPhone XR...I personally think it's a rip off. It's the cheapest one among the three(XS and XS Plus) so that's good but as far as bang for ur buck goes, it sucks...just that low res(as far as phones go) LCD display alone is a turn off for me. I also prefer a fingerprint sensor(which apple removed since iPhone X)...this was another reason for me to jump ship. The galaxy s10e is far better when compared spec to spec with iPhone XR with the same price tag. Apple has been charging exorbitant amounts of money offering the same things that its competitors are offering for a lesser price.

If Apple starts an Apple Bank, I'd move half of my cash to their bank.

I have no faith or trust in banks, even though the Canadian govt has their backing. Apple is one hell of a company and would make an awesome bank.

I'm not an Apple fanboy by any means. I still think if they integrate the Android model into their way of doing things they will blow everyone away. Android is outselling Apple everywhere and it isn't a good sign. Perhaps Apple turning into a bank would give them the edge they desperately need.

No need for Paypal. Just contract Amazon to deliver a Pakistan specific solution. Competition is always better than a monopoly.

It is good to have Chinese and Pakistani companies operating in the market, but an American company the size of Amazon would mean everyone would need to step up a notch.

Well then, if not PayPal, then I hope Pakistan Is able to receive packages from Amazon.

And speaking of Amazon, I’m a fan of that company myself. So much so, that I opened a credit account with them.

And I’m not a believer in store cards for the most part.

I respect your opinion about the XR, but I’m personally very happy with it.

As for specs, yes, the S10 is loaded for bear, but the A 12 bionic chip in the latest iPhones are pretty much a match for the most part with the snapdragon 855 Competition.

And real world usage, one is not that much faster than the other

I didn't know you couldn't receive packages from Amazon in Pakistan. I guess it depends on Amazon itself and the other sellers.

I mean if you could mail a letter to an address, you should be able to deliver a package there s as well.

As far as I know the one still can’t, but I could be wrong. Perhaps someone with more info will chime in.

I just recall several threads on the subject in the last few years here on PDF with Pakistanis voice in their frustration about it.

But aren't there many mail/package forwarding companies operating in the USA? Many Canadians use those services to order items a seller wouldn't ship internationally.

I actually know a Canadian who’s done that, but I was under the impression that there was some kind of blocking In reference to Pakistan.

Just going on what I’ve seen Other Pakistani's here on PDF say..

Perhaps things have changed? Or they didn’t know about such services

From what I understand, having no balances on your cards will actually lower your FICO scores.

How do you like that? You actually get penalized for not having a balance/s

No, that probably isn’t true to thr extent it makes a big difference in the big picture. I signed up for 4 credit cards in the late 1980’s. 4 years later I joined a junk mail company and saw how they built lists to sell to companies based on querying people’s credit card usage (and other things). I put my cards in a drawer and paid for everything in cash until 2005 when I was in the market for a house.

When they ran my FICO score it was an 816. So purchases mean nothing.

I was actually curious and decided to look up the matter from several different sources.

Basically from what I understand, there is small hit to a persons fico scores if none of their trade lines are used in a while. YMMV of course.

And 816 is like a golden number to me. Mine are in the mid to upper 700s.

As of right now, I have no plans to try and open an Apple credit card when it’s available just for the sake of opening it.
