ANTONY LEAVES SUNDAY FOR A THREE-DAY VISIT TO MALAYSIA

Taking the country’s Look East Policy a step further, the Defence Minister Shri AK Antony, who went to Vietnam last month, will now be leaving for Malaysia for a three-day official visit, on Sunday. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Defence Secretary Shri Vijay Singh, Advisor to Raksha Mantri Shri Sundaram Krishna, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen ZU Shah, Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal NAK Browne, Vice Admiral KN Sushil and Joint Secretary (South), Ministry of External Affair Shri Biren Nanda.

During his stay in capital Kuala Lumpur, Shri Antony will hold detailed discussions with his Malaysian counterpart and the Deputy Prime Minister Mohd Najib Bin Tun Hajiabdul Razak and the Foreign Minister Ahmed Syed Hamid Albar. He will also call on the Prime Minister Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi.

Shri Antony will also visit Penang, where he would meet Governor Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas.

Malaysia is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its Independence and the current year also marks the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Over the years, India and Malaysia have developed strong bilateral relationship encompassing political, economic, education, cultural and defence fields. The Defence Cooperation between the two countries was formalized by signing a MoU in 1993 and it has been expanding steadily since then.

The primary area of cooperation has been in training to Malaysian Defence personnel at various levels including at the National Defence College and Staff College. The Defence Cooperation between the two countries is also characterized by high-level exchange of visits, visit of ships of the two navies, India’s regular participation in Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) exhibition including the one which was held from 04 – 08 December 2007. Both the countries have participated in bilateral exercises such as PASSEX and MILAN.

Last month the Sixth Malaysia-India Defence Cooperation Meeting (MIDCOM) was held in New Delhi when both sides had meaningful discussions on strengthening defence cooperation as well as to explore new areas of cooperation.

The two countries last month signed a Protocol on training of Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Pilots by Indian Air Force on SU-30 MKM aircraft. Earlier in May 2007, a MoU was signed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited with the Malaysian Ministry of Defence for the technical training of RMAF personnel on SU-30 MKM aircraft.

The Defence Minister returns home on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.

...................and Malaysia Bans Indians from Recruitment!!!

Malaysia freezes recruitment of Indian workers
Malaysia has frozen the recruitment of Indian workers, including temple priests, sculptors and musicians, a move apparently linked to the recent mass protests by the ethnic Indians here against their alleged marginalisation.

Workers from India will not be recruited, according to an official circular. But, it is not clear if the ban applies to professionals as well.

The decision was taken by the Malaysian government on December 18 but made public today when Defence Minister A K Antony ended his three-day visit to Malaysia.

Malays believe that a successful society is always homogenous.

Because of this, they are unvwilling to give a voice to people whose thinking is different from theirs.

They believe that the majority should always hold the reins firmly, in order to prevent their modernization from slowing down.

Singapore, such a tiny country, was formed only because of this. Malaysia expelled singapore in the 60s because it was a majority-Chinese area.

My previous post was part of a Tit for Tat retribution.

I have been following the news about oppression of ethnic Indian since its inception, but I think you should have a look over the title of thread and its corrseponding response from titanium, it is his usual response when he can't see anything positive being happen with India.

The man has been bred in the pdf atmosphere kent. If you dont know thats 'mullah central' according to one at WAB. Its the most useless board on the net, which regularly derides Indians there. People like titanium are a norm there rather than an exception. They put down Indians there for any and everything, and any defence news(positive) related to India is immediately ridiculed like he is trying to do here.
