Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the ruling alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday agreed to move a resolution in the KPK Assembly soon against drone attacks on Pakistan's soil.
The decision to this effect was made at the parliamentary parties joint meeting held with KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khan Khattak in the chair at the CM Secretariat.
KPK Senior Minister Sirajul Haq, PTI's Provincial President and Speaker Asad Qaiser, Deputy Parliamentary Leader in KPK Assembly Shaukat Yousafzai, QWP Provincial Chief Sikandar Sherpao also attended the meeting.
The ruling coalition partners formally agreed that in next provincial assembly meeting, a resolution against drone attacks on tribal areas would be passed. Since long, PTI headed by Imran Khan, has been strongly raising voice against drone attacks.
In the same meeting, the allied parties discussed overall law and order situation in the province and condemned the killing of PTI provincial lawmaker Farid Khan along with his another companion the other day when unknown assailants fired at his car near Hangu Bazaar.
Moreover, the coalition partners also talked about a policy to improve law and order in the militancy-hit province.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak also directed the administrative secretaries of nation building departments to formulate a comprehensive and effective strategy to put an end to corruption and commission culture in their respective departments and ensure quality of work within ten days. He said that there would be zero tolerance for corruption and no compromise on the quality of work would be made in this government.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the administrative secretaries of Communication and Works, Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Local Government Departments at his office on Tuesday.
On this occasion, he said that to formulate such a strategy, which could close all doors of giving and taking commission in construction works and other developmental projects. "The elected political set up of the province will discharge its responsibilities to end the commission culture and bureaucratic set up should also discharge its responsibilities in this regard," he added. He urged that the concerned authorities to fully exercise their powers to clear the system of corruption and commission culture.
He said that no political interference would be tolerated in the process of reforming the existing system. "There would be no room for those officials involved in taking commission and everyone from top to bottom would need to set himself or herself straight," he added.
The participants of the meeting assured the chief minister that they would formulate strategies to put an end to corruption and commission in their respective departments in the light of policy guidelines of the present government within the shortest possible time period.
Meanwhile, the chief minister chaired another meeting of Finance and P&D Departments in his office.
