I only recently started realizing that most of this anti-islamism is really a mask for skin color racism.

I realized it when EU politicians started mentioning how Turkey is undeveloped and too poor to join the EU, this got my attention recently because they kept doing this a lot AFTER they had let in those VERY POOR countries from eastern europe, which Turkey is much richer than.

So it's too obvious, they keep saying poor, they keep saying islamism but in reality it's about not being blonde and blue eyed with very white skin.

The only western countries against Turkey joining EU with a non-racist agenda is probably Germany and France, because they don't want to lose their leader position because of Turkeys population and seats it would get in the EU.

Just think, if they are racist against people in Turkey what do they think about even darker people?

Well I think the simple reason why Turkey is not in EU is party racism and partly Islam. Although both reinforce each other to define as "the other". As you said utterly poor and destitute Eastern European countries have got into EU with few years of applying.

@Vergennes Your right about the Greeks. I have been to Athens. However what you must understand is Greece had small population, was romantically considered as birthplace of Western Civilization and factually and absolutely was on the European mainland. On top it was Christian. All those factors negated the "colour" complex.

And i think there is less chance of Turkey getting into EU now with UK leaving. UK was probably the most pro Turkey EU member.
