Indian Channels are giving breaking news right now that smoke is coming out of another Indian Submarines and some Navy Guys have been shifted to hospital

.
Mumbai: An Indian Navy submarine is headed back to the Mumbai shore after it was forced to surface when smoke was detected on board. Reports said four or five sailors were rendered unconscious from suffocation and have been airlifted to a Mumbai hospital.

The INS Sindhuratna was being sea testedafter a refit, about 40 to 50 km off theMumbaicoast when the smoke was detected. The senior-most submarine officer of the Western Naval Command was on board.

The submarine was carrying no weapons or ammunition. Since it was still in testing mode, it had not been placed under operational command yet.

In August last year, another Navy submarine, the INS Sindhurakshak, sank in the Mumbai harbour after an explosion on board, killing 18 sailors.

Accoding to Headlines Today, accident happened due to gas leak from battery compartment. Submarine is okay except gas leak. 4 personals are unconscious and brought to hospital. Rest are okay.

maintenance screwed up.
If it just came from a refit then its most likely maintenance related accident.
Happens all the time with airplanes.

.
another bad news
What's so bad? :what: The sub was being tested just for this purpose. After all tests are complete it is only then that it will be fully operationalized.

And could have been a false alarm. The Captain must have been smoking his cigar!
