MUMBAI: Police and security agencies here have got a specific alert — from the police of a North Indian state — about RDX having been smuggled into
the country as part of a cement consignment from Pakistan and the target being an oil refinery.

Officials said the high alert sounded at vital installations like railway stations and hotels in Mumbai last December was not a reaction to the 26/11 carnage but had its basis in this specific intelligence input.

Officials also told TOI that more RDX could be coming in as part of cement or other consignments. But the alert did not name any refinery that was supposed to be the target.

That explained the reaction by Delhi Police and Mumbai Police during the days following the terror attacks on Mumbai. The two closest refineries to Delhi are at Panipat and Mathura. But most of the major refineries are near the coast, including those at Vishakhapatnam, Paradip and Jamnagar.

The alert also mentioned railways as a possible “soft target''.

Several ports, especially those in Vishakhapatnam and Ennore (Tamil Nadu), were also on a high alert on Tuesday. Shipping officials met home ministry and IB officials, agencies reported.

ATS joint commissioner of police Rakesh Maria was not available for comment and state intelligence chief D Shivanandan said he was not privy to the information.

Security was stepped up at all railway stations in National Capital Region following the threat. The police deployed extra Quick Reaction Teams at New Delhi railway station and other stations. "After 26/11, every input is taken seriously,'' said Delhi Police's DCP (crime and railways), Neeraj Thakur.

Agreed what you just mention above. and what about it is also a possibility that Raw wants to mislead... After all India Is also not clean as you describe. they too have blood in their hand

The fact is there can be no smoke with out fire. After the Ajmal Kasab episode you think you have the moral right to disagree to such allegations. Think about it.

lets not talk about morals here. u guys havent got a gud history either. india has always blamed pakistan for everything. remember the encounter which u guys carried out few years back and later u said all those who got killed were ISI agents??? however those killed were sikhs. also i still remember samjhota train blasts which were carried out by ur army. they went to india as guests but came back in pieces. also we have got this other story gion around regardin this nodia encounter. come on even a bollywood director writes a better script than that. gun coming out, didnt know how to go to delhi, some how they asked a cop, car in which they were traveling didnt have a single bullet mark despite police firing at them, carried pakistani passports and before dyin accepted that he was a pakistani.

That is what the story is on our side so don't get worried if you are not involved. We have a independent and established judiciary where it will have to be proved before declaring some one guilty. In Purohit and the other case you are right....but friend it was our own independent investigation that led to the persons and that also they have to be proved in the court of law. Any act of terror has to be condemned and the guilty punished Indian or any other national.

After all the proof pointing in your directions you continue to live in denial on the Ajmal Kasab issue. This attitude will create more problems for you as the authority of the state will be challenged by this non state actors and this is what happening in FATA today. Had all those generals who ruled Pakistan exercised the law of the land in FATA in last sixty years Pakistan would have been a better place today. first of all i never commented on ajmal kasabs issue. wat i said was wait for the investigation to finish. no one is in denial here. gov has accepted that he is from pakistan and this was after doin her investigation. as far as who was behind mumbai attacks is a totally different investigation which is still underway. wat zaid hamid is talkin about is wat he can make out of that dossier and some of the things are worth noting. anyways thats for the investigators to decide and wat he says wont make a big difference in the end.
also about fata u r only sayin wat u have been readin in news. believe me u have got no clue of wat is happenin there and y is it happening. it has got to do nothing with generals.
