Another 200 villages of Badin have been flooded and more than 300,000 people displaced.

According to reports, monsoon rains have wreaked havoc across district Badin and its surrounding areas. Nullahs have been flooded by rainwater and people of many areas have started to move away on their own to get refuge.

The Pakistan Army has launched a full-scale rescue operation after establishing an aid centre in Badin while the district administration has claimed that more than 90,000 flood-affected people have been shifted to camps.

Water has spread all over the area and inundated almost all the land in district Badin while water has also entered Mangrio and Malkani after a 200-foot breach in LBOD salt water nullah.

People of the area are helpless while some have taken refuge on high muddy rocks and others in government school buildings.

Some of the displaced villagers complained that there is no one available to render any aid to them, others were crying over the death and loss of their livestock.

The Pakistan Army has formed a rescue camp in Shadi Larj area where it is trying to provide all possible aid to the displaced people.

Tens of thousands of people have been displaced in many other areas including Mehrab Chandio, Mukhtar Arain, Mooso, Mataro, Aaarib Halipoto and Ahmadani while more than 0.2 million people have taken refuge on higher places.

After India’s spilling of water into River Sutlej, a flood is expected in the Kasur area of Punjab. Local residents are moving towards safe places.

The district administration of Kasur has cancelled all workers leaves and formed flood relief camps in various areas.

Water has to be released from dams............how much water a dam can hold????? It can break........and that will be more devastrating......

It raining hard in Indian Punjab.........ludhiana is totally under water(stupid drainage system)Pakistan should prepare itself for more water.
Whenever bhakra nangal dam releases water a warning is issued in Media and High alert is sounded in the villages around sutluj.............I wonder how hard is it get info about it for Pakistan in advance.........just tune into Indian channels.

There is always breakage and floods in villages neighbouring sutluj in Pakistan............why not in India???
Answer is India got more stronger banks build and even a department is made that maintains them.
