No doubt artillery as well as cavalry are extremely important arms. However one needs infantry to hold the ground, thus equally important.

Even the non-combatant branches have great importance. Communication is essential part of the Command. Without food & ammunition no army can fight and tanks would become sitting duck without fuel. Therefore Supply corps is essentially. Without Medical corps wounded soldiers will perish.

I disagree with ‘Most important’. My point is that victory or defeat does not depend upon any one branch of the armed services. Advanced guns are no doubt very important but resources have to be judiciously allocated to all branches of the Army. Unless you have unlimited resources, it is foolish to spend money on advanced artillery and neglect other branches. With limited resources, one has to allocate funds judiciously.

A lot of people think US military superiority comes from our advanced weapons. They do help....but or ace in the hole is C&C and logistics.

He remarked on your title where you claim that an advanced gun is the most important part of an army.
