Among the Egyptian naval Achievements: The Usraeli "Tinin"submarine was taken out of service, and the submarine " Dakar" was sank
Hit on the Israeli submarine Tinin "dragon":
It is a British S-Class submarine named HMS Springer.
It reaches a length of 66 meters and its maximum displacement (payload) is 872 tons, floating 910 tons submersible, and its crew has 48 officers and sailors.
She entered service in the English Navy on August 2, 1945 and participated in only a few World War II battles and was sold to Israel in 1958 and was called "INS Tanin".
On June 6, 1967, that submarine attempted to infiltrate the port of Alexandria and launch a group of human frogs to mine the destroyers and frigates in the port, but the attempt failed, as the submarine was discovered and deep shells were fired on it by the Egyptian frigate "Al-Tariq" (it is still in service now to train students of the Naval College) It is an English-made frigate that Egypt acquired in 1949 and was named after "Farouk the First", but after the July 23 Revolution it was renamed Tareq.
It has a displacement of 1350 tons, its length is 91.6 meters, the number of its crew is 192, and it is armed with 6 102-mm cannons, spread over 3 towers, with two artillery guns for each tower, 4 40-mm cannons, 12 20-mm anti-aircraft guns, and 110 depth shells.
The submarine "Dragon" was seriously hit, and its captain completed his return to base until he reached the port of Haifa, where the Israeli navy honored him. This was the end of the submarine Dragon, where it got out of service in 1972. As for it crew of human frogs, they lost their way and tried to hide in Qaytbay Castle but they was arrested.
Sinking of the Dakar submarine:
The submarine that sank in its first mission and before its receipt in Haifa, where Israel bought it used from Britain and agreed to upgrade it and was originally the British submarine "HMS Totem" where it was purchased after its departure from the British navy and the contract included its upgrade and the work of overhauling the engine and body.
On the way back to Haifa port on January 15, 1968, captain captain Yaakov Ra'anan, on his way to the Mediterranean, received a telegram from the Israeli naval command asking him to inform them of his location every 6 hours and when he approached the Egyptian regional waters he was instructed to enter the port of Alexandria and observe the Egyptian ships There, however, his misfortune was that he was detected by the "Asyut" naval minesweeper which drown it, as it did not succeed in surviving like its predecessor, the dragon that narrowly escaped.
(Asyut)..
A Soviet-made "T43-class" minesweeper with a length of 58 meters, a displacement of 500 tons, and its armament, 4 37 mm cannons, 12.7 mm cannons, and 32 deep shells.
* Egypt almost clipped all the naval Israeli nails before the October 1973 war
The Egyptian navy destroyed all major Israeli weapon systems before the war:
It destroyed two entire branches of the Israeli navy:
Submarines : By destroying the submarine Tinin and the Dakar submarine
Destroyers: By destroying the destroyer Eilat and the destroyer Haifa
A third whole branch, the landing line, was damaged: by the destruction of the landing ship Beit Sheva and the landing ship Beit Yam..
