Amir Khan v Chris Algieri official highlights

.
Khan making a strong comeback. Really grown stronger and he has much better footwork and stamina.

.
To me it was a very bad fight from Amir. It is good that Algeri didn't pack a punch in his right hand or didn't land one cleanly, otherwise lights out for Amir Khan.
He known for his glass chin in the business. He has a very bad habit of lowering his left arm, giving chances for a right hand from his opponents. In this fight Algeri attacked him constantly with his right. Khan was lucky that's all. He had lost all his fights via this route, stinking right from his opponents and him on the floor, lights out.

. .
Its old fight
Actual fight is on 20th april with tough opponent
It will be a tough fight in favor of Terence mostly. Foot work has not been Amir's problem. It is how he leaves himself open and get caught. He does not have a week chin, but he leaves himself open more than others for a clean punch.
  • He does not have enough power to stop strong chinned opponents to try and catch him when he is throwing flurries of punches.
  • He throws large volume of punches in one go which leaves him in a pocket opened for attack. Since he throws fast punch they are not as powerful to stop ppl from attacking.
  • He lately gets tired or lose focus(it is his problem from the beginning) from mid to late rounds.
I am a big fan of Amir khan and his talent so please don't take my criticism in negative way. I follow quite a bit of boxing.
However I would be jumping with joy if he does win or put up a good show again one of the pound for pound best. He does have a chance if he has at least few of the above points rectified.

That's a very good analysis. Furthermore:

1. He cant fight inside
2. He cant hold or clinch well
3. He gets drawn into unnecessary brawls
4. His ring IQ is very limited
5. He's been in too many wars
6. His last few fights have been concerning

Lastly his opponent is at the peak of his game. However if he brings his A game and has worked very hard in camp then he will give Crawford a nightmare.

I think he clinches too often because he can't fight inside (or he thinks he can't). I am hoping he will do well.
