America's murderous drone campaign is fuelling terror: The Guardian

Those are unarmed drones. US law would never tolerate execution without trial of anyone on US soil.

Let's hope so. As Americans have protested against our killings with drones, we will protest injustices against them too.

Patriot act is against all American norms and basically unconstitutional, but it exists.

now Americans are thinking about bypassing UN and international law and attack Syria to topple its government and install its proxy regime
talk about blatant disregard for every single letter of their favourite punch line "Justice and freedom"

How did you even think such a possibility, that a Nobel Peace Prize holder could do such a thing, against the principles of Justice and Freedom.:)

Well, sadly Osama bin laden was hiding in Pakistan even after Pakistan said he wasn't, and that did piss off the U.S, because what happened in 9/11. but obviously the U.S has gone corrupt if they are killing children for almost no reason... but also the Pakistani is corrupt, my proof is that they said that Osama bin laden wasn't there, when he was hiding in a fairly large complex, very noticeable with its big military-like fence surrounding it. i think we may be doing this maybe for revenge? after all the Pakistani protected a man responsible for over a thousand deaths here in the united states, not to mention the 4 planes that wont be flying anytime soonand the 3 buildings that went down...

So few thousands died in WTC attack on 9/11, what about hundreds of thousands killed by US in many countries like Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan? Does it ever end? Do you realise that you live in a most war and blood hungry country in the world and your president is the biggest terrorist in this era?

Legal justification: Obama asked to give criteria for drone strikes

WASHINGTON: Congressman Dennis Kucinich and ten members of the US House have asked the President Barack Obama to provide the targeting criteria for signature strikes aka drone strikes and the legal justification for them.

The letter, being circulated by Democratic House of Representatives member Dennis Kucinich, expresses concern at the use of signature strikes against suspected militants by the CIA and the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

In a press release, Congressman Kucinich said, “These drone strikes are being conducted in the name of our national security and yet Congress and the American people have not been provided with the legal justification for such strikes.

The use of drones must be subject to the same legal constrains and oversight as any other weapon. “These attacks undermine the morals, values and the strategic goals of the United States. The fact that they are conducted with complete impunity and with no accountability threatens to set a dangerous precedent that could unravel the very laws and international standards the US helped to create.”

The letter, says that “as members of Congress, we are deeply concerned about the full impact of drone strikes.” It asks the President to provide the “targeting criteria for “signature” strikes; mechanisms used by the CIA and JSOC to ensure that such killings are legal; the nature of the follow-up that is conducted when civilians are killed or injured; and the mechanisms that ensure civilian casualty numbers are collected, tracked and analyzed.”

The letter follows an article published in The New York Times earlier this week that stated that the President not just signed off on drone strikes, but also had a kill list.

They will be stopping very soon. Wait until PTI Tsunami hits the US government.

10 members.. Hardly an impact.. Looks to me more like the work of a Pakistani Lobby...

I wonder how much in favour of these drone strikes you would be when the honeymoon is over and the US finds her policies at odd with India. It wouldn't take the US longer then a minute to find terrorists and their safe havens throughout India including the Indian Parliament and drone attacks on India would bring out your true emotions about them.

And boots on the ground have authenticity to claims and not air reconnaissance by a super power that is carrying out illegal attacks. Finally, I don't believe we have to prove anything to an enemy neighbour who is well aware of the truth but speaks in favour of lies and deceit simply because of his natural enmity.

Respected Sir,

Did the world find Osma Bin Laden in our backyard, a half a drive away from capital, breast feeded by Army ?? ........ Oh wait, he was found in Pakistan, your background !! And U talking about "well aware of truth" ?? Dude we were shouting from every roof top to the world, that Pakistan was hiding and training militants/terrorists, with according proof, no one paid attention to it. Clinton blew it away. Pakistan, as usual did nothing. But now when the cat is out of the bag, your credibility destroyed, who will believe you ? How can one trust that casualties which u report as "Innocent" are not "Spontaneously Exploding People Killing" terrorists ? Had u taken steps or at least shown some progress in neutralizing the camps when pointed out by India in 90's, now it could have stood beside you, like neighbors always do.

No hard feeling though for you, but its the same mentality which asked for "Proxy-war" is responsible for this "Proxy-Casualty". I, representing all learned and sensible country-mates, regret the losses of truly-innocent people.

Regards.

they are also arming, funding those Al Qaeda terrorists and sending them into Syria, with full involvements of other NATO's allies like Turkey and other arab nations. the only difference is, the Al Qaeda/Taliban based in Afghan are not working for US anymore while the Syrian Al Qaeda terrorists are working for NATO.......:hang2:
