ISLAMABAD – Now Americans can land only on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport, Islamabad, as Government has banned other airports of the country for them.

A reliable source informed TheNation that unusual activities of Americans in Pakistan have forced the Government to take this decision and the arrest of five US nationals from Sargodha also played a key role in it.

Intelligence agencies have been reporting about increasing anger and agony against Americans among the general public, as the US nationals don’t abide by the laws. On many occasions, US nationals publicly didn’t abide the law of the state, as four times in Lahore and six times in Islamabad they were stopped on various police checkpoints and illegal weapons were recovered from them, but still they were allowed to move freely. This raised many questions about the integrity of Pakistan, and political parties, civil society and media were openly protesting against this discrimination.

Again five arrested Americans during interrogations have revealed important information that is against Pakistan’s integrity and this was the main reason of this decision, the source disclosed.

Now Americans can land only on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport, Islamabad, and they will have to complete the whole immigration process and only ten they would be allowed to stay here.

this is an idiotic move on the part of the government. what if some american individual wants to come and invest in Pakistan know he can only go to islamabad. Already we cant attract foreign investments in Pakistan and these ******** are making it hard for people who really want to invest in Pakistan.

The last thing on the mind of the security apparatus shall be a foreign investor's comfort level. Security of the nation and its citizens is of manifold importance than any foreign investment, at this crucial juncture.

And if definition of 'Americans' is people with US passport, then will it be a big deal for CIA or any agency to get a non-US passport for its operatives to land in Karachi or Peshawar?

Interesting development - but in current situation its probbly best , we track all Americans coming in country for their own security

Also I think investment - is out of question , I doubt any investor is brining in cash into pakistan with our collegues in war on terror flying in drones to hit civilian buildings and villages based on "Intelligence" of some nature.

I think its a good move by our National Security Advisors, reduce forigne "Diplomats"

and the security in Islamabad would be tighter than anyplace else. just to please the american, more over - american need to come islamabad first because thats where they are the masters. and get proper security and march where ever they want.

Problem seems that presently it is not clear what they r investing in.

Well, the potential investor can land in Islamabad and catch another domestic flight, not a big deal. The Indian home ministry actually implemented a crazier idea of not allowing re-entry for 2 months from previous exit date for foreign nationals .. thankfully it was rolled back after protests from US/UK govts on behalf of their investors.
