Altaf Hussain announces to end MQM

KARACHI: Unsettled over consecutive shocks, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain announced to dissolve the party instantaneously, SAMAA reported on Thursday.

Addressing the party’s Coordination Committee, Altaf Hussain expressed deep regret over the prevalent situation and deplored the extrajudicial killings of the party workers.

Following the announcement regarding the abolishment of the party, Altaf Hussain cut off the address and hanged up. –SAMAA

If he actually goes through with it, I will throw a party at my house. With MQM finally getting caught betraying Pakistan multiple times, and with it's senior leadership now hiding, it was only a matter of time for MQM to disappear. If Altaf actually desolves MQM, I'd wager he's either doing it gain sympathy, or he knows he's lost.

[Edit]: I can't find any other source that shows Altaf has desolved MQM, but from what I can tell, he HAS desolved the Rabitha Committee.

Okay it seems that another power play is at play. Altaf wants his party to act one way and is forcing them to act against their own wills using his influence over the party. Hopefully the party dissolves and decent ones take their place.
