America Buying Pakistan Media
President Obama has pledged 50 million dollars to reverse anti-American sentiments inside Pakistan. The money will go towards media outlets inside Pakistan to raise awareness of U.S. funded projects intended for the betterment of the Pakistani people. Now what you say guys Before it was slightly clear that geonews and other channels are pro american and propaganda Channels but now it clear!!!

The issue is not that they are giving adverts. Presenting their POV is their right.

The alarming factor is that they are paying huge amounts for these ads.

If I have to give you a bribe. Instead of just giving you money I buy a PKR 50 valued item and pay you PKR 5000 instead its technically legal, but peeche khaatay understanding hogi ke "O pai, hath hola rakheen".

++++ not only that, for money they will go live on world TV and say about Pakistan that you wont even say about your worst enemy. $100000 will get you many Pakistani willing to sell their soul...50 million is a waste of money, one million will get you loyalty of 10 channels

Media should report on American goodwill work, no problem in that. But when it takes money, to do it, then its a problem.

For example in a 3 minute slot. If a news channel is to report "America did something good" vs "America did something bad", what would it choose? It will choose according to what it is paid for.

Now if the channel is broadcasting paid content from America as a separate segment, then it should declare how much money it took for it. For example if a 5 minute segment costs PKR 100,000 for say a Bata shoes ad, and if America is paying 500,000, then thats something fishy.
