"Former governor of Syrian city of Aleppo calls on international community to protect the city from being erased from the map
While the international community remains silent over the latest Russian-Assad brutality on the largest city Aleppo, the former governor of the city urged that more be done to protect the city and its historical heritage from being ruined.
A Nusayri, Orthodox and Shia alliance in Syria intends to wipe the country's main Sunni city and economic capital, Aleppo, off the map, said Abdurrahman Dedem, former governor of the city.
He said that Bashar al-Assad already destroyed the city, and now Russia wants to kill its residents.
He said that Russia, Iran and Assad regime had completed all preparations for a large-scale offensive on the city. “The Sunni-dominated city is being ruined by the insensitivity of the world. After a couple of days, Aleppo will go to wrack and ruin. This may be our last call."
“I call on humanity, please save Aleppo from this atrocity," he said.
“Mosques, hospitals, marketplaces, civil residences are targeted by airstrikes… They will remain in memories as a disgrace to humanity," he added.
Dedem said that the civilized world only remains silent and watches the brutality. “The silence of the United States, which claimed to support the Syrian uprising, actually encouraged Bashar Al-Assad and Russia," he said."."
