All of the current Afghan Government Warlords (Except a few like Dostam) were Afghan Mujaheddin in the 80s and were Strong Allies of Pakistan (Taliban Didn't Existed back then). India was an Ally to Soviet Union and Backer of Communist Regime in Kabul.
But as soon as the Soviets Withdrew and Afghanistan slumbered into Civil war Indians Found favors of a large portion of Mujaheddin by their side in no time, Rabbani, Masood Abdul Qadeer etc. All Pakistan had were Haqqani and Hikmatyaar.
Fighters of the Northern Alliance and Ahmad Shah Masood were Treated in Pakistan during soviet Afghan war. Masood was trained in Peshawar and today they are best friends of India and Worst enemies of Pakistan.

I hope Our Government have learned from their past Mistakes and don't repeat the same mistakes they did during Early 90s.
