A news organization spreading misinformation does not count as freedom of expression. Don't throw out the first phrase you can think of.Still, Indians are more concerned about Youtube being Banned in Pakistan and how India guarantees freedom of expression (or jokes as it turns out)

On a personal blog, anybody is free to show Kashmir as part of Pakistan, if they want to indulge in some harmless daydreaming. That's freedom of expression. But news organizations are bound by the press code and the media code.
You are really going to compare Al Jazeera being banned for five days because of repeated (intentional) errors on their part to all of youtube being banned in Pakistan for almost 3 years now??Still, Indians are more concerned about Youtube being Banned in Pakistan and how India guarantees freedom of expression (or jokes as it turns out)
Your ignorance reaching at another level.Still, Indians are more concerned about Youtube being Banned in Pakistan and how India guarantees freedom of expression (or jokes as it turns out)
Who said it isn't? It is shown, if and when it happens. There is complete media freedom in Kashmir, unlike the parts of your country where the army is actively engaged.Really? Why not show the police/Army brutality in IoK? Or is that not part of the Indian press and media code?

Yea, he is. He will grasp at any straw to paint equivalence. As I said before, youtube and internet 2.0 are the biggest drivers of modern culture. Their entire nation is immunized from the grassroots level waves of progress by their govt, and they think that's the same thing as a news channel being moderately penalized for repeated violations. You are really going to compare Al Jazeera being banned for five days because of repeated (intentional) errors on their part to all of youtube being banned in Pakistan for almost 3 years now??
Hardly, they were given multiple warnings and it is clear this is not simply a matter of accidental omission but a political statement this channel is trying to make- why should the GoI put up with that? If you want to operate inside a country you have to abide by their rules.
Do you think the USA would do nothing if it showed parts of its territory as part of Mexico?
Good for the GoI, in the past they have tried to take the "high ground" as they were constantly spat in the face, but these sort of clowns need to be made aware, in a language they understand, that this is unacceptable.
Wrong. They would take action, if it was done by a news organization. American law differentiates between "news" and "commentary". If a media organization is registered as a news organization, they are bound not to spread misinformation. If it is commentary, you are free to lie. That is why they make a legal distinction between political reporters and political commentators, for example. It's called freedom of speech, they would do absolutely nothing

The Centre has ordered Al Jazeera’s English news channel to be taken off the air for five days for repeatedly showing a wrong map of India, in which parts of Kashmir were shown in Pakistan and even Lakshdweep and Andaman Islands were omitted. This is the latest in a series of orders in which channels have been punished for violating the programme code.
In case of Al Jazeera, the Inter-ministerial Committee that looks into the complaints against channels, said the channel has committed “cartographic aggression” and recommended to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry that the channel deserves to be given a “deterrent punishment for its misdemeanour”. The I&B Ministry, in its order dated April 10, said Al Jazeera channel should be taken off air on all platforms from midnight of April 22 to midnight of April 27.
In its order, the I&B Ministry said that Al-Jazeera channel telecast news reports on 24 July; 11, 22, 30 and 31 of August; 7 and 24 of September in 2013 and on 2 and 26 July; 3 and 15 August and 19 September in 2014 with wrong graphical map of India repeatedly.
After getting complaints from the ministry’s own monitoring centre and the Ministry of External Affairs, the matter was referred to the Survey General of India. It was found that portion of Indian territory of Jammu & Kashmir has not been shown as part of Indian territory in some maps.

Bashing Israel is a fundamental norm of the Al Jazzeera.Good move.
I actually do watch Al Jazeera. As I do both CNN and BBC World as well.
Al Jazeera does try hard to pass itself off as a professional non-Western HQ'd and funded "Western" channel, but the Muslim tilt is undeniable in the chaired debates.
Plus who can miss the abaya'ed chicks with the accent ......
Did I mention good move?
