The UAE has finally implemented the Falcon Eye contract. Airbus Defense & Space and Thales Alenia Space will build two high-performance Earth Observation satellites.

For Airbus Defense and Space (ADS) and Thales Alenia Space (TAS), 2014 is a year of very, very good bill at the commercial level. The good news of the day is the implementation of the Falcon Eye program, a high-performance optical Earth observation satellite system, or more simply two spy satellites, for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Airbus DS signed last August as leader of the industrial team (TAS being co-prime contractor), a contract with the UAE Armed Forces for the development, implementation and launch of Falcon Eye. A contract valued at 700 million euros (50-50 between the two manufacturers).

This contract includes the production of two high-resolution optical satellites and a ground control, reception and image processing segment, as well as a training program for Emirati engineers to help them control and use satellites placed in orbit. UAE engineers will control and operate the satellite once in orbit, TAS confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday, "Falcon Eye will provide unparalleled observation and intelligence capabilities to the UAE Armed Forces," said a statement. published Tuesday, Space Systems General Manager François Auque.

Emirates Airlines has ordered 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliners for over $15 billion.

What are you trying to prove?

@The SC
Does it means those satellites are being put in operation or some contractual mile stone has been achieved?

. .
Satellites business for Airbus, jetliners for Boeing.

Your subversion attempt is groundless. UAE also import from China...
Emirates air always buy the newest, they were the initial customers of A380. Now its dreamliner time.
As per news satellites were contracted in 2014 about the time, when A380 were added to Emirates fleet.

The latter is true.. the negotiations took around 2 years..there is a ground station also..

According to an article in US web site Defense News published January 5, Emirates officials discovered that the French-made “Falcon Eye” military surveillance satellites, due to be delivered in 2018, include US-manufactured elements that are “backdoor” systems that would allow data to be covertly intercepted.

"If this issue is not resolved, the UAE is willing to scrap the whole deal,” one anonymous UAE source told Defense News, who added that the security flaw had been discovered in September 2013 and that the UAE had asked France to change these components.
