Very interesting. Radio Pakistan's shortwave broadcast has pretty much ceased.

Tibetan wasn't missed @Tshering22 :azn: more recruits for SSF

The AIR's external services division has doubled the time for the programmes aired in Dari, Pashto, Baluchi, Mandarin Chinese, Nepali and Tibetan languages, the public broadcaster said in a statement on Sunday.

Wow. Who the listens to AIR anymore?! 😯

. . . . .
So unfortunate of you brother

What for?

I am proud of it and come from a defence family myself. Why would I want to be a Tibetan anyway?

Thanks for nothing, mate.
Actually Tibetan is different from the languages spoken in Bhutan, Ladakh and Sikkim, yes the script is same but there are some differences, @Tshering22 can educate me here.

I do 🙋🏻‍♂️

There are somewhat commonalities between denzongkha and Tibetan. As you said, the script is similar, but that's the case with several Indian languages as well like Ahomiya and Bengali, Konkani & Marathi, etc. Dzongkha, the Bhutanese language, is about 60% intelligible to very linguists of my language. Those older speakers who speak better denzongkha can understand Tibetan and dzongkha reasonably well to at least get the context of what the other person is saying.

Like how a spanish linguist might be able to understand Portuguese person to get the context.

The actual use is them using this via their stations in Tajikistan to bombard a mix of songs and propaganda content into Afghanistan and Balochistan. So their folks on the ground will get them to tune into AIR for both propoganda news and instructions. Voice of America does the same thing - first few days of the conflict EC-130 commando solo IIs were pumping the airwaves with VoA until more permanent presence was established.

On air broadcasts have ceased in favor of internet streaming live broadcasts and podcasts.

For example KPCC is the local National Pubic Radio (NPR) station which mostly streams on air (as well as on the FM band) nowadays.

So AIR does or does not do live internet streaming ? So 1980's...

Yes its partly true, because their audience are the people from 70s, 80s, 90s who love old songs and classics and the old way how radios used to be. So they want to remain the same as private radio networks are the ones which are listened to by the 90s and 2000s kids airing those songs.

But they do have internet streaming

Now a days FM transmissions are listened on car radios while travelling in or out of the city .
