AIPMT 2015: Muslim students upset with the dress code guidelines

The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a set of strict guidelines for the dress code to be worn at the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and is now facing opposition from an umbrella body of Indian Muslim organisations, the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat. According to the rules, the students, boys or girls, cannot wear a "scarf". They must not turn up in full sleeves either. This has irked the students belonging to the Muslim community who wear a hijab and feel it to be culturally unacceptable to go out in public in a different set of clothes.

This step taken by the CBSE is the first time for any competitive exam and has nothing to do with religious clothing. Following the cheating racket across the country, the board was not ready to leave any loopholes and took this step as a preventive measure.

The restrictions put have not only been limited to the type of clothes the candidates wear but also on the pattern and colours of the garments. It has been notified that only light coloured clothes should be worn, and there should be no flowers or any other elaborate pattern on the outfit.

The candidates, on the day of the exam, will also have to undergo strict frisking measures before the exam commences. The invigilators have been instructed to check the ears of all the candidates with the help of torchlight. This practise will ensure that no communication device such as a Bluetooth is carried inside any examination hall.

this organization should jump into the sea... they are a embarrassment to islam.

twenty years ago, there were no hijabis in india or extremely less... now all thanks be to zakir naik and khomenei, they are everywhere.

But in Pakistan there is no compulsion for women to expose flesh as it is in many countries and in the law mentioned in this thread. For that we are thankful to have Pakistan.

People try to make mountain out of mole just on the basis of reglion.
If you have problem due to religious belief, go ahead and meet the regional authority and ask them to provide a seperate room, where you can sit with other people following your relgious philosophy, following the rules laid by the organization. Further more if its gender issue, then tere can be seperate rooms.

Finally religion is there to make you a better human being and not to curtail your knowledge growth.

Some new cutting edge research has been done on the ill effects of such things on the test score or something has been found regarding this in the ancient manuscripts?

Cause it is one of the premier medical exam of India & have to take precautions so that nobody can hide notes under their cloth.If so it will be visible

You dont know the super intelligence of Indians.
Full selves allow you hide your chits easily.
Its hard to see things written on dark clothes.
Its easy to camouflage and disguise the chit in big flowery patterns cloths...

Some things are logical to understand, it doesnt require research and lab tests

Because in past in this test there have been cases of high tech e-cheating by students by hiding the small equipments in many places in there dresses. this is the second time this test is being held this year so all type of precautions though some may look odd
