Ahiska Turks are denied turkish passports

I don't think AKP would grant all Syrian refugees citizenship, not to mention many of them are under 18 years old whom are not eligible for voting. Frankly speaking, this is a wacky reason given the circumstances I have already shown which refute your analysis of the motive behind it.

I didn't bother reading the last two pages.

I want to point out that Turkey has grown stronger economically in the past 10 years, before that we had problems and unless you are rich and don't need economic help like Germany. Then you're struggling to continue a proper existance. You're asking why Turkey didn't do anything, think about it. What should Turkey have done.

Turkey didn't have what it takes to make a difference. If Turkey had gotten kirkuk after WW1 we'd have oil enough to turn us into a dangerous nation both economically and militarily. But we didn't and we have been the FRONTLINE for NATO through the 90'ies.

Our arms industry was in its infancy in the 80-90'ies. We had to buy arms and face embargo and the likes when our "western" allies didn't like what we did. The cold war still existed in Turkey while the "west" enjoyed prosperity.

Turkey is still surrounded. But by improving the living conditions of our citizens regardless of ethnicity we can rise above it all.

I would support any incentive given for cross ethnic marriages mostly Kurds & Turks because the west caused this division (with help from some kemalists). But this is also true, if the kurds and turks become one people then middle east will become a more dangerous place because it'll be like the return of the ottoman empire. (To those who don't want that).

You'll have the Turkic nations in Asia, turks&kurds in ME. Developing those countries is the keyword here. And anything Turkey can do to help with that, and establish turkish schools to help them preserve their turkic identity is a bonus.

It's hard to read and watch the discriminations of Uyghurs as well as other turkic people. And I understand the frustrations born from being helpless, but irrational behavior is not the solution nor will it help. The help provided through NGO is worth a lot more than the government going in and getting some unwanted attention.

Russia has still more ressources and more influence than Turkey in the old sovjet states. What we have is turkic and our support without expecting anything in return.

We could not support the uyghurs as they deserved it (had to backpedal in the 90'ies when we tried).

I haven't read the situation for the ahiska, but I will. I know that the tartar population in russia is the biggest, and after that comes Turkey. But relocating them to Turkey probably won't solve the problem because Land and ressources is the problem. If Turkey and turkic nations can establish a solid cooperation I don't see why the Ahiska can flourish in their old lands.

Remember Cyprus, A lot of cypriots fled because of the war and have never been able to go back. Thus you lose land. But if the Ahiska can return then that land won't be lost. (i'm looking at the bigger picture here) and with time more and more people can move and settle and expand the land where turks live.

If you move everytime you're pushed by the enemy, you won't have a place to run to.

This is called stereotyping and generalizing, when you hear about Turks committing crimes, you just don't care or at least don't generalize on all Turks, but when it's a Syrian who commits it, it becomes a norm of Syrians. This is unfair, especially toward refugees.

Look, I know exactly what you are talking about as I hear as well about crimes committed by them here in Jordan, but I don't generalize because I hear about much more crimes committed by Jordanians and don't generalize. As for my experience with them, they are the nicest to be honest with you.

I met many Arab tourists here in istanbul and they are indeed very friendly and I always laughed with them when we had small talks and when I worked in the airport I have seen every kind of Arabs, I dont know the differences between them but I completely understand and get irritated about anti-Arab sentiment also among Turkish people. I am an atheist myself and I hate it when muslims or convert atheists from islam all blame Arabs and talk heighty-meighty about their pre-islamic history but this is a real different case.

We are poor people and government giving these people salary ( I know it sounds ridiculous but its true )
We had earthquake and many didnt have blankets and some died in cheap tents in the middle of winter but Syrian refugees had their prefabric homes
And it is not acceptable when they make fights about sun-creams, sunglasses, airconditioners... We have Turkish teachers and they demand Arabic teachers as if we have enough people who can teach and speaks Arabic. They rejected 1500 Türkmen refugees from Syria as if they feed them. They have given areas and breaking into peoples home. Of course all of them cannot be bad cause some are the relatives of Turkish people and they actually do not live in refugee areas but they live in normal houses and work illegally which is pretty normal here but what these Syrians brought here is the worst image Syrians can ever break in millions of years.

Anyway I just said what I feel, not to suck up to Arab people cause I really don't care as a Pan-Turkist. I have worries about the illegally occupied 20% of Azerbaijan lands, South Azerbaijan in todays mullah iran, Crimean Tatars under Ukrainin depression and home-comings and Türks of Bulgaria who are forced to move to Turkey from Bulgaria in every 15-20 years systematically, Türks in Greece who are not even allowed to use the word Turkish to define themselves and not allowed to take '' tractor license '', Uyghur people in China who gets raided periodically and taken to police stations and never getting heard of later, their families who are not given information about their dead ones and tortures and stuff. I can sympathise with Arabs but we have bigger issues than Syrians and they are def not welcome to harass our people but as you said they may be the people of regime but we Türks do not get informed much about whats going on there, we dont even know what groups-sects Syria has

I think the reason why no one helped or cared about the Ahiska is because of the same reason why no one is doing anything for the Uyghurs because of China by them and because of Russia by the Ahiska.
I blame only stalin for what happened when Lenin got to Power we Ahiska could speak our language and live our Religion freely when Lenin died Stalin destroyed everything.

.
Maybe Ahiska Turks can organize and mass mails the journalists of milliyet-hürriyet about their issue or they can hold a protest with 20 people in Ankara/Kızılay.

I was in Kızılay today, comies were holding a protest with approximately 100 people. There were cameraman and reporters everywhere.
Didnt know there were commies left:lol:

We are a big nation from Balkans to China but not strong if we are not united politically-militarily.

Ahiska people do not need to go on streets, they have representative foundations in close relations with the parliament, they do achieve their problems discussed in the parliament, they do help each other on legal issues. But the best is even if they dont come to Turkey, they should be given citizenships and for the ones who wants to come the government should help them financially. ( Free plane tickets, given lands, long term loans with no interest , recognising their diploma and fixing their retirement issues ).

Not just for the Ahiska,we should do like Germany all Turks who live in various countries(Russia,Ukraine,Moldova,Romania,UZB,turkmens etc) coming to live in Turkey should get a turkish citizenship and help to start.

It would be so good if something like that would happen but Turkey doesnt want us in Turkey but in Georgia i dont know why and most of the people who want to go their are old people because of their memories.
But the younger generation dont want to go back to georgia we want to live together in one country we are a nation of 400.000 people but we are splitted over many nations

how many ahiska turks have you ever met? They are more russian than turks..i know lot of them, in where i work or places i visit full of them, these guys are preferable for their "russian language skills" in tourism sector, and %90 of them are russian-asz lickers, i know russian lang. and have been witnessing how they can be dirty for money.. for example i listened a guide guy during his conversation with russian group for sure he didn't know what i understand him. First thing he said was "Do not trust turks" second one was "Do not talk to them if not necessary"... man, u eat this country's meal and sh!t on its plate... I warned and threated him to beat to death then started to hoot ;" abi abi bende türküm ben öz türküm"... hasssssiktir i said... leave aside their origin, they have capability to sell themselves for money.. no trustworthy people.. its better them go away

Looks like you are a kurd in T.C. Disguise.

. . .
I wish Turkey would be like Russia were the Russian government helps the cossaks but Turkey helps kurds arabs and sunni extremists i would like to know why?
