Its a expressway build by a Private Indian company the total project cost is Rs 9739 crore or US $ 2 billion.

I always thought that such backup plans must be there for emergency situations..for example in Sweden one of the design requirements on their fighters is to be able to land and take off from roads.

Though a good initiative, given Indian traffic congestion will that be possible ?

Better late than never.

There are many parts of Eisenhower Interstate System (in US) that you can land a Jet or Cargo plane. That had been in defense doctrine of many developed countries. These jokers are doing it now, makes me feel sad. At least they are doing it now. But those ******** tolls on these roads... come on. where is the tax money going ?

All the roads leading to the pakistan border are 6 lane or 4 lane (low population areas) with some alternate route too and some projects are under implementation.

All of our strike corps have gained great speed through them.

Next in the line 8 lanes 1000km+ Ganga Expressway. Hope the land Acquisition completes in times and the project will be finished before time like Yamuna expressway.
