Agencies investigate who spilled the beans

the rumor has it the report was sold for 15000USD, so i don't think he would sell it for such a low price

are you kidding me? it wasn't the job of Police, or anyone to keep it secure, it was the job of Commission itself to keep it secure, they should have arranged for the security measures in place, Security layers should have been placed, as the report might contain some classified information , should would have been excluded from the Public released version

Yes.I agree..but don't you think that commission has not assigned security for this? They were working carelessly, just like that?even after analyzing this report,I have felt that commission was seriously investigating the lapse of security and weak spots within our civil and security sectors.

This particular report is highly critique of Civil & Military leadership, it has spilled the beans, in every quarter of the country, now if we are going to investigate that why this report was leaked than this is wrong, as This Report was meant to be published anyway, so why does it matter whether it got leaked or not?

We should investigate the matter because if This Report got stolen / copied than other Report can also get leaked or sold by someone within, so as I said, investigate it as if A Report was stolen. what if someone steals a report with classified material ?

No balixd. We should also investigate that why it was leaked and who are responsible hands working behind this.As this report was already planned to make public, but if such elements are not caught, then tomorrow I am afraid that our private, restricted reports will also be leaked as well at much cheap cost.

The report hardly said anything that people did not already know. It was leaked by the GOP probably for internal purposes.

can najam sethi have access to this report? @nuclearpak

Never in a million years IMO.

The DAWN article mentions that there were three copies. This is the second copy, not the final one.

So my guess is that the final copy is still top secret, while the previous two were mistakenly discarded and put up in some other pile of rubbish.

Najam Sethi can't have access since he was related to Punjab government. Unless Nawaz himself invited Sethi in...no.

I am glad the report is out. Public has a right to know when failures of this scale happen. Shame on PMLN govt for not making the report public.

According to a well-placed investigator in all probability it was the second draft written after the first failed to elicit a consensus among all the members possibly because it is said to have ‘named too many names’.

So first draft named too may names, second draft removed the names and pointed at joint failure by all concerned. The 3rd and final draft probably said the operation could not have been stopped and it was in the best interest of the nation that no action was taken against the intruding aircrafts and also the government did the right thing of not protesting officially.

No need to investigate who spilled the beans.

Do we have an effective "freedom of information act" that any certain piece of information is released by the government after a certain period of time?

No, we do not have and as such these leaks are good.
