AFTER THE ‘SURGICAL STRIKES’

There may be very little difference between the kind of effect 'announcement' and the kind of effect real surgical strikes generate. That is why I believe there is always a possibility of Pakistan planning something similar to redeem the lost ground. Any I hope things don't escalate to point where war becomes inevitable

You;ve already open the pandora box with this drama which is badly exposed and not a single country in this world even support your claim of so called Sir G Kal Strikes. But you've clearly open space for Pakistan. IMO Pakistan should attack on India whether you did it or not whether world accept it or not. It will help Pakistan alot. First brust your economy, secondly expose your Army directly or indirectly adventure like attack on India, help Pakistan alot.

Even Simla agreement at most says IoK issue will be "resolved" without intervention of 3rd party as if there was any for decades before that. So as far as Kashmiris in valley are concerned this issue is far from solved till referendum is held. You are making it sound like Pakistan sold of Kashmir in simla agreement.

Actually, yes. You literally legally gave up the entire referendum debate and UN resolution in that.

Also, it does not say Indian Kashmir like you are saying. It means whole of Kashmir. Which includes all the other areas too. Now once you signed Simla, UN resolution is out of the window. But, if referendum is needed you need to vacate all territories AND tell China to do the same.

Call it a Hoax, but it seems it has done the trick.
Who cares if the Attack was real or not, as long as the results are exactly what u wanted.

Thats summed up by the famous phrase : "Saanp bhi Mar Jaye .. Lathi bhi na Toote.."

In realistic world, your DGMO degrade his entire Army. United States, Chinese, Middle Eastern Country and from past 3 - 4 years Euro states having great relation, exercises, experience and know how about the potential capabilities in conventional and non-conventional of Pakistan. They knows the after effects (consequences) of any Surgical Strikes against Pakistan by anyone.

Military experts across the world laughing on your military drama. In Pakistan/India Scenario, surgical strikes means full fledged War.

Effectively, it did.

Think of the situation at the time.

This is very close to personal abuse.

Simla was a huge step forward, given the situation at that time, but it will perhaps take Pakistan a few more decades to realize the full cost of what they agreed to in order to get their PoWs back.

(Close to abuse? LOL, there is frank abuse too, all overlooked (and sometimes participated in) by some members of management. :D )

Really a low-down and cheap remark by that member. But then @ISI posts like that. Can't be helped.

You are right about Shimla; the Pakistani establishment and would have done anything to get them back, and only Mrs. Gandhi's demonstration of strategic restraint gave them some crumbs of comfort. In hindsight, it was worded with insufficient care, but that's in hindsight. At the time, Bhutto did a good victim act.

Sir, in such situations, no treaty or agreement works as well in the long run, as when it is signed. After all, hindsight is 20-20, but it must seem like a good idea at the time. Imperfect it may be, but Simla does lay the foundations for resolving matters bilaterally, if only subsequent governments have enough foresight to build upon them.

Pray that there's no another hit on your army by militants, in such case scenario no guessing who would be the victim of own goal.

I would agree with that assertion. The only exception I have made for anyone. A flag change may not be the requirement, but a fact remains that origins do not make upstarts any more Pakistani than Adnan Sami.
I almost warned the holier-than-thou fellow over what almost seemed apathy and somewhat glee at the APS deaths; but to each their own maker to judge.

..."to each their own maker to judge..."

Absolutely. I hope the Indian members will read this and tone down their exuberance. We have to live with our consciences. Today is the 83rd day that my friends in Kashmir have had to cope, just because an idiot administration in Delhi and Srinagar, and a knavish leadership not beyond inciting children to riot and destroy their own lives and careers cannot come to terms about how much of the loot is to go to whom.

There are other sobering factors as well. How we can jump around with a nuclear holocaust looming in the not-too-great distance really staggers me. This is gallows humour.

As I said elsewhere, the solution to the subcontinent's woes is not Aman ki Asha's but more sufferring at each other's hands. To where they stare at nothing more than burnt landscapes and hear each other's voices of "Bachao" and understand that it is the same word they used to ask for help in something they did to themselves.

Even if let us say the real surgical strike didn't happen, which I believe is wrong, because something really happened to create such noise. The kind of effect an 'announcement' will generate be similar, because wars are mainly played in minds and less on battlefields.

yes something happened, an effort was made to cross LOC, then they left with 14 bodies and one idiot alive.

Oh, then you must drag me in the international court on behalf of your countryman Ali Haider.

I will do nothing of the sort.

#40 vindicated my disgusted response; @Eagle 's noble post reminded me of Donne's lines, "Ask not for whom the bell tolls...."

Go in peace.
