Their is a need for Pakistan to come clean on issues related to cross border infiltration,mumbai attacks.etc

If they chose not to, strengthen the internal security and ignore them.Why hurry ? maintain the status quo.

Pretty much. It's a common understanding, and everyone is quite content with it.

India just needs an excuse to stay out of the dialogue process and it has a convenient one, blame the PA.

As for the article itself, there is nothing new, it speaks from the Indian perspective making Pakistan look like the epicentre of all Evil. Pakistan needs India as much as India needs Pakistan. Author's notion that while India can integrate in the global economy and doesn't need Pakistan, why is the same not true for Pakistan? Why cant Pakistan integrate into the global economy and only needs India for its economic survival?

India is in no position to give any sort of incentive to Pakistan. Yes our economy is in shambles but it has more to do with the on going war and poor governance of the successive governments and less with India. There is nothing at this stage that India can provide to Pakistan which will change any of the above circumstances.

Moreover this convenient belief in India that PA exists only because of the threat from India is also highly misplaced. We can say the same about Indian army as well that their sole existence is because to counter Pakistan and China however it would be naive because India considers itself a global player and they need their military to protect and project his power and even if the threat from Pakistan and China suddenly disappears they will still need to maintain a minimum credible defence.. Pakistan too faces multi dimensional threats and PA will always be there to counter them irrespective of India. This is a highly flawed misconception within the Indian ranks that the utility and importance of PA will diminish if the threat from India goes and hence PA is against any approach of betterment towards India.

If there is unprovoked firing, there should be a warning by the Indian government and a demand made to stop such actions.
There is little communication going on over this issue.
