Gen Kayani will be in the dock after Gilani | The News Tribe

Islamabad: After sending Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani home, it seems the Supreme Court of Pakistan would not hesitate in summoning Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani if the law enforcement agencies don’t mend their ways in Balochistan.

The apex court, which is largely respected by the people of Pakistan and termed as a last hope for the nuclear armed nation, is all set to resume hearing a case pertaining to law and order situation and forced disappearances of political workers in Balochistan, on Wednesday.

The court has summoned Inspector General of Frontier Constabulary (FC) Major Gen Ubaidullah Khan Khattak and Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi. The FC is accused of kidnapping and throwing bodies of people in the south western province of the country and during the last hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed displeasure of the FC’s role in bringing the situation under control in Balochistan.

The CJ had ruled that the court might summon Gen Kayani to get his version on how the situation could be improved in the province.

History of the present Supreme Court judges suggests that they would not hesitate to summon the army chief .

Throw him in jail if it is confirmed he has been killing Pakistani people without giving them their right to trial.

This must be done- if possible he should be thrown in jail !!!

Long live justice !!

Like I said before, the Supreme Court is indeed heading towards overreach, albeit in the pursuit of an apparently noble goal.

Than the justice done by the Rightly guided calips and also by the Ummaya ruler Umar bin abdul aziz (May Allah grant him hghest place in Jannah) was overreach too?

Forget rightly guided caliphs they are of high stature, take example of umar bin abdul aziz... he was a common man, but his judicial overreach made him so popular in hisory that after 1300 years he is considered 6th rightly guided caliph.

I don't want to go off topic, but just two observations:

CJ Iftikhar is NO Umar Abdul Aziz.

And Umar himself died of poisoning.

Supreme Court cannot be above the Parliament, and the way Supreme Court has acted is not good for Pakistan in a long run. Already Pakistan is suffering from duel power centres, and with Judiciary becoming another power centre, Pakistan is heading into a serious trouble in the long run

If everyone in the three powers works honestly then all the three powers are a check for each others and therefore each power will work in a way that is good for the country.

But everything stops at IF.
