Went to Armed Forces of Dentistry in Pindi opposite CMH, Pindi due to my family Army links, it was the worst ever decision to make. My tooth was infected and went to get it treated. First the Armed forces personnel were totally incompetent sitting in a modern facility of AFID. They charged alot of money to civilians with each thing separately charged and the Army Doctors were totally misleading and misguiding patients. X-Ray, Consultancy, Treatment, and then they even referred to Axial Surgery department for just a pain in tooth and some infection.

The Armed Forces soldiers and officers themselves complaint that since their own treatment is free, it is not up-to mark, it is below standard both in AFID and CMH Pindi, with all modern facilities and technology the Army doctors and nurses are totally incompetent and useless.

On the other hand, Armed Forces personnel complaining that Civilians and Civilian Professionals are treated much better since they pay alot of money, but with our own as civilian experience it was the worst ever experience at AFID - Armed Forces Dentistry. AFID staff, officers are their to loot as much money as possible, ask for high fees, and keep referring to other departments of Dentistry to keep money spend on them with different treatments.

Warning to all our Pakistanis to stop going to these CMH, AFID run by Army as they are too expensive and run by total idiots.

Dentist here (not based in Pk). Unfortunately our health system needs a major overhaul. Once a patient goes in ANY clinic or hospital in Pakistan, their major focus is how can we make money instead of providing what's best for the patient. If you are a private paying patient, you are treated differently for sure. Finding good competent dentist/doctors who know their shit is extremely hard. Unfortunately, our culture is such that if any health professional has more foreign degrees than it's assumed that they are the best and they know what they are doing. Such health professionals are robbing people by charging whatever they please. What people don't realize how come foreign qualified clinicians are not practicing overseas if, since they have spent millions in their training.... (this can't be generalized obviously but is true in most cases)!.

AFID/any other institute, standards of training needs to be raised. Once you have tooth pain, there are only two options, do you want to save the tooth/get it removed. You must have opted to get it removed. After assessing clinically and radiographically, if they referred you to the specialist (maxillofacial department -not 'Axial') it must have been a difficult extraction.

But I agree with you, 'awae ka awae he bigra hoa hay'. My brother requires cardiac surgery in LHR and all of us are shocked on prices and how these health institutions are charging whatever they please taking advantage of the families and their standard of care and communication is absolutely pathetic. It's health mafia and TBH I don't think if anything can be done.

This is not only army, it is general condition in all over Pakistan. Go to any private hospital/clinic in Pakistan. Your won't believe your eyes on their fee structure. I once experienced it at Al-Shifa International in Islamabad.
Even Dr or professors sitting in government hospitals will funnel you to their private practicing clinics for financial gains from the pockets of poor.
Same attitude and behaviour as corrupt business practices.
Will against say, it is general condition in Pakistan.

Yae tu ho ga. Just like you went there (but not suppose to) through family connection, most probably dentists working their got admission into dental college through family connections and than job through family connections.

Wasay I doubt patients effect doctors pay, they get their salary regardless of patients.
