the ambush should be audited for learning purposes, so we don't make the mistakes again....
I mean every thing from weapons and tactics...
on higher note assailants does seems to have suffered high causality themselves.... as reported per dawn
so many immature commentators on this incidence. Most are calling for war, to pound Afghanistan until all life ceases to exist. We should be thankful for smunshipall mercies, saner minds exists in GoP and PA. Making more enemies will not increase our security and will increase the number of people willing to attack PK. These rag-tags took an opportunity and took the lives of people busy doing their job securing our borders. We should learn from this and there should be a contingent that back our teams when in dangerous situations, we should employ small drones to keep an eye on the ground surround our jawans, and a quick response teams, maybe in a helicopter gunships that react instantly to such attacks that are stopped quickly and decisively.
So our soldiers were killed while being captive? And we still chose to show constraints? Mugha samaj nahi atti kah in haramkhoron ko galli niklon yah apni army high command ko kuch kahon. BC had hoti ha begairti ki. White flag to unho na raise kia tha inko kya takleef hui foreign ceasefire per agree kerna ki?
There is something wrong in this whole stroy of killing many Afghan scums or just a feel good story for local consumption.
If Afghan army is to be believed then thha have complete control of Afghanistan and r winning war against Taliban which they aren'tKHOST, Afghanistan — Afghan tribesmen on Monday returned a Pakistani soldier they captured in a deadly skirmish along the countries' border, as well as the bodies of five soldiers, the governor of Afghanistan's Khost province said.
The soldier and the bodies were handed to Pakistani troops, said Khost governor Hukum Khan Habibi.
The dispute arose over Pakistan's work on a fence intended to span nearly all of the disputed 2,500-km (1,550-mile) border, much of it mountainous and porous. Afghan officials have alleged that Pakistani troops crossed onto Afghanistan soil, prompting firing on Sunday by border forces and the local tribal force.
The two sides later agreed on a ceasefire.
Border skirmishes in the area are common, although detention of a foreign soldier is rare. Each national government alleges that the other allows sheltering of Taliban militants who stage cross-border attacks.
The tribesmen handle security in their Zazi Maidan district of Khost.
The Pakistani military has previously said that two of its soldiers were killed. An Afghan army commander has said two tribesmen were killed in the skirmish.
A spokesman for the Pakistani military could not be immediately reached.

I appreciate your condolences/goodwill but PAK - Afghan border conflict is an OLD issue.Afghanistan is playing in the hands of US, wouldn't have a good outcome. I call this sad event , baradar koshi
Americans are responsible for this stand off, old hyena switches its side time to time, causing chaos and war in the region. Boundary problems should be solved through dialogue without presence of a third party.
The issue predates US invasion of course, but their presence certainly does not help.I appreciate your condolences/goodwill but PAK - Afghan border conflict is an OLD issue.

Since Pakistan is trying to fence the Durand Line, clashes are likely to occur from time-to-time. We have no option but to face them.
US have nothing to do with this.
If he said this, how do you know if he is not saying this as part of the propanganda warfare. Even Putin calls his American counterparts as friends and colleagues...Beghairat Generals and begharait politicians. I don't care about Pashto/Punjabi thing, they were Pakistanis. A beggar, destroyed nation disrespected a nuclear power, and this beghairat leadership is too busy screwing around trying to make money for themselves or calling every Tom,Dick and Harry as their "Bradar".
What other hope can there be when even COAS says Afghans are as dear to him as Pakistanis. Wonder if he knows it's Pakistanis who are paying for his salary, not some ungrateful bachabaz in the mountains of tora bora.
As I have written before, they suffer from the same disease that led Iblis to rejecting Adam (PBUH). This can only be dealt in one manner...it is time that common Pakistanis wake up to this.Good lord.
If this country had any sense this would be on media, pages, newspapers every where to showcase how amazing our brothers are. West of Durand line. They are insane. They hate us with madness they hate us. A fence is not enough. We need more security. More forts. More men.
Its time to end restraints. This is the act of an enemy that is bred on hatred.
Perhaps. The issue predates US invasion of course, but their presence certainly does not help.
True the response needs to be thought out to prevent giving the enemy a propaganda victory. But Pakistanis must be absolutely certain internally that Kabul is a foe. Make no mistake about this. Pakistanis must realise that Afghans staying in Pakistan is a existential demographic threat to Pakistan. Pakistanis must realise that employing them in their business is a threat. Pakistanis must realise that marrying into them is a threat for the overall well being of the nation.so many immature commentators on this incidence. Fence and weapons to protect that fence.Perhaps.
Psychological implications of American forces in the region are understandable; their presence instill confidence in ANA but we cannot underestimate the resolve of Afghans regardless. Some Afghan tribes are hardened to the bone and will fight on their own [if they feel inclined to].
I completely support fencing of Durand Line - no matter the cost.
Pakistan should have fenced it long time ago. Unfortunately, we are slow to learn.
Was reading up on this. They said they would only return the Pashtun Pakistani soldier and deal with Punjabi Pakistani soldiers. I guess they are dealt with now.
