What was the point of the previous intransigence? Afghans should have known the cannot hold out, how much further things would have been if this had been implemented 15 years ago.

Article on PakistanToday.com here, excerpts below:

In a major development, Afghanistan has assured Pakistan of giving complete access to the landlocked Central Asian States, by delinking it from her earlier condition of a reciprocal arrangement for access to India, a highly informed source has told Pakistan Today.

Ohh No this is gonna make some serious butthurt:agree:

. .
Good decision by Afganistan, now they can take benefit of the CPEC along with all the central asian countries and Russia, who always dreamed of warm water. Lol for Russians " pyar say mangay ga tu jaan bhi dey dai gaay, mawali itna kharab nahi chief saab"
(If you ask us nicely we will even give our life)

When has Pakistan kicked out Afghans -- after a few thousand this year Europe has closed her borders -- Pakistan has housed millions across generations.

I guess people don't value something that is given for nothing.

. . . .
No actually if you read the article Pakistan is not giving reciprocal access -- game theory my dear game theory.

I think it does, Afghan trucks reach Wagah and Pakistani trucks reach Sherkhan bandar.

mmm that's not the who truth -- Afghan trucks cannot carry back Indian good and cannot navigate India -- the reverse is not true

CPEC is carrot and not a good one either. It is just an investment zone etc with china lending it at horrible rates/conditions.
Russia has access to warm water through the Black sea and Iran. China goes through central asia, is partly linking up with India through nepal. No one cares about Indo-Pak trade aside for afghanistan, and Pakistan. India has little to gain since 90% of Indian trade is done through the Indian Ocean. Change will be slow. So either way, India wins, when Pakistan starts trading with India. Its economics. You have more to loose from not trading with India than denying India a route, because alternatives exist for India.
