An Afghan commando turned his weapon on U.S. troops at the Afghan army’s northern headquarters and wounded at least four American soldiers, U.S. and Afghan military officials said Saturday.

It was the second insider attack among the country’s elite forces in just over a week, after an Afghan commando fired on U.S. soldiers during an operation in the east, killing three U.S. soldiers and wounding a fourth. The Taliban said the attacker had been recruited to work for the insurgency.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Saturday’s attack.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump gave the Pentagon unilateral authority to send thousands of U.S. troops to Afghanistan at its discretion, moving to ramp up the 16-year war and bolster support for ailing government forces.

Putting more resources into Afghanistan is a fool's errand for US. Pull all troops out and let the chips fall where they may. Let SCO countries deal with it given that it's happening in their own backyard.

But the Zionists who wish to denuclearize and destabilize Pakistan along with containing Russian and Chinese strategic influences in Central Asia would not be happy. They need this in order to make Israel the next ruling state. So I suspect they have gone back to the drawing board...

4 decade's long war has made them very emotional and short tempered.
British also suffered from inside attacks, Pashtun soldiers would open fire on the Angraiz officers for different reasons. In fact Mughals also faced such attacks from the Pashtun soldiers in their service .

But they never opened fire on Punjabis because according to online Pashtun nationalists PA is 100% punjabi with some fraction of Pashtuns as foot soldiers.
JOKE ASIDE,.....it has more to do with turmoil today,
Majority of ANA soldiers are Tajiks,Hazars and Uzbaks and special forces are 100% enlisted from NA background.

Thats not true. A big chunk of Afghan army is Pashtun and they are well represented in both officer and soldier ranks. It was only in the early years that it was dominated by Farsiwans as Americans were not trusting Pashtuns.

Pashtuns are 14% of Pakistan army, which means they are neither overly-represented nor underrepresented.

Everyone learns too late that these are not good investments Afghans.

Its like everyday you make a new enemy there.

That's why the most powerful come here to see if they are resilient enough. Nature trolled earth with Afghanistan.
