Someone tell this fool to quickly apply for that contractor visa and get out — the airports going to be open for a couple of days.

what is problem between Afghanistan and pakistan ? Pakistan FM Qureshi is saying very contradictory statements

The current Afghan government is full of snakes. These people hate Pakistan, they are close to our mortal enemy India. We are waiting for them to fall, all whilst wanting the Taliban to not get complete control of the country. For us Taliban is the least worst option - it is not a good option, far from it, but is not as bad as the others in Afghanistan. Of course we won't be publicly supporting them, but privately that's how we feel.

The afghan govt. doesnt accept the border and lays claim on half of our country.. it's an equivalent of YPJ stooges running govt from Damascus claiming Kurdish part of Turkey.
Qureshi is a diplomat. He cant openly say things.. sadly he is not the best we had and not the true projection of Pakistans sentiments.

Afghanistan claims roughly half of Pakistans land. Their "Greater Afghanistan" is similar to the Greek "Megali Idea". Kabul has in the past worked with the Russians and India to undermine Pakistan whenever possible. They were the only country to vote against Pakistans admission in the United Nations and as early as the 60s provided bases for terrorist organizations to conduct cross-border attacks into Pakistan. Indian agencies have also for decades used Afghanistan for their own purposes.

Pakistans policy towards Afghanistan initially was to treat them as Muslim and ethnic brothers in the hope that Kabul would change its policy. After all Afghanistan never possessed the capability to threaten Pakistan seriously. A Pakistan-Afghanistan Confederation was even proposed but rejected by Kabul.

The Pakistani policy towards Afghanistan however changed when the Afghans granted the Soviet Union extensive influence in their country in return for financial aid. This influence culminated in the Russian invasion of the country which saw millions of Afghans pour into Pakistan and brought Soviet soldiers to our borders. Since then Pakistans policy towards Afghanistan has been to try and develop influence in Kabul so as to make sure that hostile entities are not in charge of Kabul anymore. It has not always been successful but foreign presence in Afghanistan is always going to be a sensitive issue for us hence the concern from some members here.

For me I dont necessarily see anything negative in the Turks maintaining a presence in Afghanistan as long as they keep us on board as well. Our goal never was and still is not to take over their land but instead to ensure that their hostility towards us ends. I am sure many of the Pakistani members here like myself grew up seeing the Afghans as our brother and only realized their hatred for us in recent years through the development of media (digital and social) which made clear how they truly feel about us. However if Turkey can help in bringing some sense into their minds then its a win for Pakistan as well, since our primariy foreign agenda has always been to end the Indian occupation of Kashmir, and hostility with Afghanistan only opens a second unneccassery front for us.
