Afghan general wants Torkham border crossing reopened

The Afghan border should stay closed for a indefinite period, Afghans need to realise they cannot continue on the path of terror or appease their masters to destroy Pakistan, Until the Afghans come to their senses and handover the most wanted terrorists than Pakistan can move forward and open the border with strict security and vetting measures.

.
The so-called Afghan General needs to stop making demands he cannot possibly enforce!

ISLAMABAD: A senior Afghan army general has asked Islamabad to reopen the Torkham border crossing in a meeting with Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul.

The foreign ministry in Islamabad confirmed that “the Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Abrar Hussain was invited through Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a meeting with General Murad Ali Murad, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Defence on February 27, 2017.”

Pakistan Army had summoned Afghan embassy officials to the GHQ last month and handed over a list of over 70 militants who allegedly operate from the Afghan side of the border. The list was handed over after the banned Jamaatul Ahrar, a breakaway faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility for deadly attacks across the country, which killed over 100 people.

Pakistan had closed the border crossing, minutes after the suicide attack on Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sindh’s Sehwan town on February 17.

Kabul also delivered a similar list to the Pakistani military and foreign affairs adviser.

Afghan envoy urges PM Nawaz to reopen Pak-Afghan border

“During the meeting, General Murad requested for de-escalation at the border and re-opening of the crossing points between the two countries,” the statement said.

“Highlighting the sufferings of people due to closure of the border and cross-border shelling from Pakistan, he (Hussain) sought reduction in tensions,” the FO statement said, adding that the Afghan general also “promised to take action against terrorists on the basis of shared information.”

Following the attacks, Pakistan Army also destroyed nearly a dozen training camps and hideouts of Afghan-based terrorist groups.

Accompanied by Defence Attaché Brig Farooq Zaman, Ambassador Hussain, in his response, briefed on the circumstances behind actions taken by Pakistan.

Artillery moved to Pak-Afghan border

“He stated that Afghan nationals were involved in recent attacks in Pakistan and stressed that Afghanistan should take appropriate measures for denying use of its soil by terrorists against Pakistan.”

The ambassador also informed that the border was closed to prevent crossing by terrorists.

He stressed the need for efforts by both the countries to strengthen border management, and promised to convey the Afghan request to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan ambassador in Islamabad DrOmar Zakhilwal also urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to reopen the border with Afghanistan.

“It will be the right message if Your Excellency instructs an immediate opening of our formal trade and transit routes between our two brotherly countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan. They have now been closed for about two weeks, without adequate reasons, causing enormous hardship to ordinary people and a lot of damage to traders on both sides,” Zakhilwal said during the ECO Summit in Islamabad on Wednesday.

“Many of our challenges are shared and require collective actions. To unlock our individual potential, we need to reshape our policies that promote peace, stability and trust as core objectives. In addition, they should be aimed at removing existing barriers to trade, transit and greater connectivity and develop our capacities and physical infrastructure,” the Afghan ambassador said in his written speech.

All Afghan roads now lead from Chabahar. Afghans are persona non grata in Pakistan.

Afghans should keep pleading and begging for the border to be reopened, but we won't pay any heed. Christmas is over.

We need a bit of more time so that the enemy can come to his full senses. Keep it close however, IMO, exit gate be considered as open so whosoever wants to leave, should be ousted immediately but after scrutiny. The General wants it to be reopened for what, after all Afghan Generals have been blaming Pakistan for everything so isn't it good for their own claims that there is no going from Pakistan to Afghanistan or wait, may be General is worried about the assets locked inside Pakistan now and waiting for the justice to be served through Ra'ad-ul-Fasad.

Rest about common people and pro-Pakistanis, there is no harm for them and will leave as per procedure once necessary work is done here. The border may only be opened once we are satisfied with security arrangements at our side and we are done with cleansing and till then, one of the thousand Afghan Generals (reported that there are more than thousand Generals in Afghan Army that even surpassed USA) can take some rest and wait.

This border isn't opening any time soon. Afghans and their minions played their last dirty trick during the Lahore attack. People are wise enough to know who carried out the attack and who was the main beneficiary. No amount of crying by the HRW, Amnesty International, BBC or the CNN would convince Pakistan to be lenient towards Afghans. The relation between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been changed forever.

Being an Afghan General Is Nice Work if You Can Get It. And Many Do.

P.S. The joke was that among General Dostum’s bodyguards, there were no colonels.:D

Afghanistan may struggle to recruit enough soldiers for its armed forces, but it’s swimming in generals.

The country has close to 1,000 officers of general rank on its books —more than the United States , whose military is three times as large. And off the books? No one knows.

New names are added to the roster at a rate far out of proportion to battlefield realities, where the Afghan armed forces — the army, national police and intelligence forces, numbering 350,000 in all — have been steadily losing soldiers and territory to the Taliban. Meanwhile, retirements are rare.

The United States government, which picks up much of the tab for the Afghan military, can’t pin down the number of generals. “We still don’t know how many police and how many soldiers we’re paying salaries for,” said John F. Sopko, the United States special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction. “We don’t even know how many generals. It is pretty pathetic, and here we are, 15 years into this.”

It’s nice work if you can get it, with fairly good pay, fringe benefits and a pension. So how do you become an Afghan general?

Some of them have climbed the command ladder for decades, working hard and surviving purges by successive governments. But others took much easier routes.

Suppose you are the young son of a former warlord who has just died. Along with condolences, the government will make you a general, as if the rank were hereditary. Commissions are also handed out as political thank-yous to male relatives of important figures. And in the golden age of general-making — the 1990s civil war — they were sometimes distributed in lieu of pay.

In the anarchy that followed the Soviet withdrawal and the fall of the Communist regime, hundreds of generals were born overnight. Sibghatullah Mujadidi, the interim president of the mujahedeen government, which was backed by the Central Intelligence Agency, had little to offer the disheveled fighters who crowded his waiting room, so an aide kept note of whoever asked to become a general.

According to Abdul Hafiz Mansour, who ran state television at the time and is now a member of Parliament, a confidant of the president — often his son — would turn up at the studios every evening to hand the news anchor a list of new generals to declare. One night, he said, there were 38 names.

“The list would be handwritten on a plain sheet of paper — there was no logo, no official stationery,” Mr. Mansour said.

The list sometimes grew mysteriously on the way from the president’s office to the studio. Mr. Mansour said he knew of current generals who had gotten their rank in those days through a little clandestine photocopying and the stroke of a pen.

In response to the TV announcements, rival factions across the country would summarily declare their own generals. The former warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum, who now serves as vice president of Afghanistan, awarded stars to many of the men closest to him, and even printed his own currency to pay them. The joke was that among General Dostum’s bodyguards, there were no colonels.

Afghans came into senses in only 2 weeks. Just a reminder to our Pakistani Brothers and sisters this the same General Murad who talk rubbish about Pakistan a lot.

@PaklovesTurkiye @Areesh @Horus @RescueRanger

This is just an attempt of Afghanistan to fool us, trying to portray , oh, look we are poor, please open the border....Trying to fool Pakistan by their clever mindset...

This border should remain closed unless they ready for not to shelter anti Pakistan elements and eliminating all NDS/RAW setup...

Can't you see? It all makes perfect sense
Expressed in dollars and cents
Pounds, shillings and pence
Can't you see? It all makes perfect sense
Absolutely Afghan Economy is currently chocked by closing the border. The idiots in Kabul don't understand that almost 90-95% trade of Afghanistan goes through Pakistan as Afghanistan is a land locked country.
They started to take our kindness to support and help the poor Afghans as weakness. It's time they also feel the heat and I heard the prices of vegetables and fruits had already been doubled due to this border closure. It's in Afghan Hands right now either it's our way or the highway

Absolutely I second to your comment and opinion. The Afghans have taken out Pakistani culture of kindness and helpfulness as weakness. And they somehow thought Pakistan will never close Afghan border because their delusional leaders are still trapped in pakhtunistan bullshit. Which our federal cabniet broken their bubble today by merging FATA with KPK

General of what army. Kabul's army.
70% of Afghanistan is under Taliban control.
The word General is an insult in Afghan Army. Every time dick and Harry calls himself a General. In other words if you are a warlord and have few goons with assualt rifles in your possession you are a strong candidate to become general in Afghan Army. There are more commanders in Afghan Army then soldiers themselves

.
Here's an idea why don't you go to an afghan forum and see how they treat you as a pakistani ? Afghans don't even consider pakistanis as humans. Let them go trade through Iran what happened to chabahar anyway .

Please don't mind the suggestion if you dont like it so its okay i personally respect every brother mind. And i know how many raws are also here and on afghan forums. Thanks bro

@storm_eagle Ever heard of Khawarij!? And these lot who hate us and are hell bent on shedding our blood are no brothers of ours. These are dogs that should be killed wherever they are found.

And you think those Afghan minority elite give a damn about the welfare of the majority!? No! Billions $ in private pockets and private militias, what have they done for their public at large? A superpower is sitting in that country, go ask help from them.

Borders should remain closed indefinitely, until our demands are met.

This brotherhood nonsense must end.

Alright i respect your idea. And i had learn a lot about khawarij still learning. The same from caliphate era.

I'm sorry but you are living in a fool's paradise they don't give a shi t about us it's only a one way relationship- when have you ever seen any muslim country(other than turkey)really stand in solidarity with us ? when have they ever come out for us like we do for them and refuted or condemned the people who threaten and malign us ? or protest drone strikes in pakistan ? i've never in my life seen any never seen arab or afghan post "pray for pakistan" or change their profile pics to pakistani flag during any atrocity pakistan has suffered. We need to stop with this brotherhood .
I have actually often seen westerners, turks and even Indians express sympathy and solidarity with pakistan during terror attacks but NEVER seen it from any other non-pakistani muslims these people are nothing but USERS . Much love to turkey but the rest of the muslim world can go jump of a cliff for all I care.

.
Every general is the warlord of his area with his own militia and will eventually kill each other. This army should disintegrate within a week of US stepping out.

I should suggest to open as a muslim brotherhood. What we are what we are having with Afghanistan should be deal by both of us no other third party we know mistakes are from afghanistan.just thinking about the hadith of Muhamma mustafa s.a.w .

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (ra) who said:

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Do not envy one another, and do not inflate prices for one another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another, and do not undercut one another in trade, but [rather] be slaves of Allah and brothers [amongst yourselves]. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he fail him, nor does he lie to him, nor does he hold him in contempt. Taqwa (piety) is right here [and he pointed to his chest three times]. It is evil enough for a man to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour.”

[Muslilm]
Sorry... We have no need of brothers like afghans traitors, indian foot licker we gave them shelter in last 38 years and they killing our brothers and sisters. They must be send back to other side of Durand line by force and must took their eye prints who ever caught take their eye print if some one came back again in Pakistan through him in front of firing squad

.
Put the all 3.5 million afghans as slave labour to build the wall on Durand line if afghan army open fires their own people will die that is the best solution and after the completion of wall which must be 100 feet in height through all the afghan to the other side of the border from the top of the wall if they survive that will be their luck[emoji12]
