The Afghan Special Forces have conducted their first successful night operation, the Pentagon said, adding that this reflects the growing strength and independence of the war-ravaged nation's security agencies.

"Last night in Afghanistan, US special operations joined Afghan commandos from the first special operations battalion in a full mission exercise demonstrating a night air assault. This was an Afghan plan, an Afghan-led mission," Pentagon Press Secretary George Little told media persons.

"Afghan pilots flew four helicopters during the exercise, which involved more than 50 Afghan commandos, and US special operations forces acting in an advisory capacity. In the exercise, the commandos successfully discovered and apprehended a person of interest, recovered weapons and intelligence," he said.

"I highlight this exercise as another example of the increasing versatility and capability of Afghan national security forces, which are stepping into the lead for even our most complex operations," Little said.

Anything is possible. You can be told that you have a 90-percent chance or a 50-percent chance or a 1-percent chance, but you have to believe, and you have to fight. Best Of Luck To Afghanistan

Good News. Anyone dreaming of a post 1990 situation and subsequent Taliban rule will be in for a rude shock. This army is/will be as capable as any other professional army backed by $4 Billion military budget every year for next 10 years.

Joke.

Let the American masters go and we'll see.

This is not the first time the US claimed that raids are/were carried out by Afghans. All the times they made these claims, they always turned out to be a bunch of lies.

This was NOT an Operation. Just an Exercise. Let's see if Afghan commandos can carry out an independent operation at night without the assistance of U.S. Special Forces. Now that would be a game changer!

Cheers!
