Hindu Militants Attack India Evangelicals; Several Injured

BANGALORE, INDIA (Worthy News)– Hindu militants twice attacked evangelical Christians in India's southern state of Karnataka, injuring several believers, including women and children, Christians told Worthy News.

In the bloodiest incident, on Christmas Day, an angry Hindu mob of 20 persons raided a home where several believers gathered for dinner, including pastor Suresh of the local New Life Church congregation in Surathkal town, and his family, local residents added.

Christians said Hindu's entered the house of Adiveppa Kashennavar armed with “big stones, sticks and clubs, shouting abusive slogans.” They were “assaulting all of them, including women and children, hitting them and causing severe injuries to their head and chest.”

Pastor Suresh, who uses only one name, was allegedly beaten with clubs while trying to rescue others. His wife, Latha, was seriously injured after being beaten on her chest with a wooden club, according to witnesses.

Additionally two other persons, identified as Annamma and Roshini, received head injuries when they were attacked while another Christian, Jason, reportedly fractured his leg after being hit with a club . Deepak, who also attended the gathering, injured his face and nose after he was beaten by extremists, Christians said.

Wen they left, the Hindu's were heard shouting that they “would kill the Christians,” according to residents.

PREVIOUS THREATS

It was not immediately clear which group was responsible for the reported December 25 violence, but several Hindu groups have openly criticized the spread of Christianity in India.

Police officials were reportedly reluctant to investigate case, asking injured Christians “How many rupees”, the Indian currency, “were paid to them for their conversion.”

Local Christian Walter Maben said local police seemed to support the attackers as “nobody has been arrested and the Christians are being questioned about their religious conversion."

In a separate incident, Thursday, December 28, about ten suspected Hindu militants stormed the Hebron Full Gospel Assembly Church, in the town of Haleyangadi, shouting threats and saying they would “not let the church continue at the place,” believers said.

PRAYER HALL

The incident reportedly happened while the pastor’s wife, his two children, his mother, brother-in-law and a friend were praying inside the prayer hall.

Christians said the attackers smashed windows of the prayer hall and later entered the pastor’s home where they destroyed “the lights and window panes in the [main] room.” The intruders also broke the refrigerator, overturning utensils in which the family meal had been prepared, before they finally left.

Pastor I. D. Prasanna , was not at home at the time of the incident. Police have not yet launched an investigation into the incident, Christians said. Officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

The reported incidents were the latest in a series of attacks against devoted Christians in India, who comprise just over two percent of the country's mainly Hindu population of over nearly 1.2 billion people.

India: No justice for Christians raped and murdered

The new year should bring an important priority: justice for the victims of the anti-Christian massacres that occurred in Orissa, northern India.

This is what the Indian Christians gathered in the All India Christian Council (AICC), an organization committed to the defense of rights of believers in India demand.

Figures provided by local Christians in Orissa speak for themselves: more than 3,500 complaints presented after the massacres of 2008, 827 cases registered by the police. The number of final reports submitted to the courts after the surveys are 315 cases and those which "ended with a sentence" are only 68, with 412 people sentenced with a minimum punishment. The cases closed with an acquittal were 140 people and in all 1,900 were acquitted. The cases still awaiting trial, three years after the tragic events, are 304.

The figures say that "justice is still a huge problem for some 56,000 Christians for whom life has changed dramatically since August 2008", says John Dayal, AICC Executive Secretary in a statement. "Aggressors - he recalls - asked them to convert to Hinduism and burn a Bible as a sign. They did not do it and chose to escape. In 400villages the Christian presence was completely cancelled, more than 5,600 homes and about 295 churches were burned, hundreds of deaths, some women, including at least one nun, were raped".

Tension remains high in Orissa, aggravated by the murder of a legal assistant, and former Catholic catechist, Rabindra Parichha, who was involved in the protection of witnesses. Violence continues: before Christmas, in the village of Bujlimendi, Kaleswar Digal's house, a 45-year-old Christian with a wife and three children, was burned down shortly after midnight. Now the 25 Christian families in the village with 100 houses live in fear.

Rabindra Parichha is the third Christian leader to be killed in 2011, after the murder of two Protestant pastors, Saul Pradhan from Banjamaha (Raikia) and Minoketan Nayak from Midiakia (Baliguda).

According to eyewitnesses, Manoj Pradhan, a member of the Legislative Assembly of the state of Orissa, and the first defendant in several cases of murder, went from one village to another instigating anti-social elements to "eliminate all the Christian leaders of Kandhamal". The police - the AICC denounces - is also deaf to the complaints of hate speech, that regularly occurr during demonstrations on behalf of Hindu extremist groups.

"The saddest thing in Orissa today is the lack of dispensation of justice, especially in the courts, where not a single person was previously convicted of murder, especially because the witnesses were forced to remain silent and the police presented little evidence, after shoddy investigation", concludes Dayal.

India Churches Rocked By New Year Attacks, Group Says

Saturday, January 7, 2012 (4:17 pm)

p6_india-religious-violence1-12-300x219.jpg

India has seen a wave of attacks, not only in Karnataka, but also in other states, including in Orissa as captured in this photo.

NEW DELHI, INDIA -- Devoted Christians in India's southwestern state of Karnataka have begun the New Year amid uncertainty about the future of several churches after Hindu militants halted worship services, a Catholic watchdog said.

In a statement, seen by BosNewsLife Saturday, January 7, the Catholic-Christian Secular Forum (CSF) said activists of the hardline Hindu group Bajrang Dal disturbed a New Year's Day prayer service of the evangelical Blessing Youth Mission Church in Humnoor, a suburb of the main Jamkhandi town.

CSF explained that Pastor Siddu Seemanth Gunike was among several believers who were "physically attacked by about 20 Bajrang Dal Hindu fanatics" on January 1.
The group said the Hindu mob arrived "in the middle of the prayer service", which was held at a church member's home, and ordered the Christians to stop the meeting.

The violence came as a major setback for the 42-year-old Gunike, a married father with two children, who has led the 80-strong congregation for the last 15 years, CSF added. There was no immediate comment from Bajrang Dal, but the group is among several Hindu organizations known to have attacked churches.

MORE VIOLENCE

Elsewhere in Kanataka, the Karnataka Calvary Fellowship Church in the town of Ganeshgudi was attacked on New Year's Eve, according to CSF investigators. CSF quoted Pastor P.R.Jose as saying that the attack happened while most people of his 70-member church attended the December 31 gathering.

"Just when the congregation was fully immersed in the prayer service, about a dozen [activists of the Hindu group] Sangh Parivar...forced themselves into the church and ordered them to stop their prayer service," CSF said.

The Hindu mob allegedly interrogated each member and hurled "abuse at them alleging that they were involved in fraudulent and forcible conversion of Hindus to Christianity."

Police reportedly arrived but CSW claimed they joined the Hindu militants in threatening believers "with dire consequences if they continued with their conversion work."

EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS

Evangelical Christians have denied they are involved in "forcible conversions" saying the Bible speaks about a voluntary personal decision to follow Jesus Christ.

"After forcing the believers to stop the prayer service, the policemen ordered the pastor to come to the police station the next morning and went away with the Sangh Parivarists," CSF reported. It was not immediately clear whether the pastor, who is married with two children, had visited police.

Officials had no comment.

There have been several attacks reported against churches in India, a mainly Hindu nation of over 1 billion people where Hindu groups have expressed concerns about the spread of Christianity in the country.

Christianity Under Fire by Radical Islam

rightsidenews_201_2.jpg

The stage is set. Christians in Islamic Africa and the Islamic-dominated middle east are on the chopping block and barely a peep is heard from the left-leaning media.

So much for the Arab Spring rebels seeking freedom. They were seeking freedom all right, freedom to kill, pillage and ethnically cleanse without reprisals.

Little attention is given in the media to the new crises being suffered by Christians in Islamic nations. With the de facto backing that the United States government has provided the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and other places, they are doing exactly what their manifestos have predicted which is to fundamentally Islamize the region. To do that, is to oust non-Muslims.
Where’s the outrage? Where’s the UN? Where’s the Obama administration?rightsidenews_201_2

Three months after the “Freedom Fighters” began their uprising in Egypt, and it appeared the Muslim Brotherhood was taking control of the country, Coptic Christians started to come under fire, with hundreds killed and several churches burned. Christians were protected under the evil dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak, who our president played a hand in deposing. There are no accurate statistics on how many have been killed but there are numerous reports. Here’s a sampling:

Next:Tunisia. Since their fight for “Freedom” Christians have become targets of oppression and murder by fundamentalist Jihadists. Here’s a sampling:

Next: Nigeria. Islamists in the West African nation have been on a murder spree, targeting Christians for death unless they convert to Islam. Check these articles:

Next:Iraq. Under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein, Christians were not only protected, they were included in the government. No more. Since 2010, Christians have become fair game for Jihadists. And as our troops decline in presence, the violence increased toward Christians. The three percent Christian population there is dwindling fast. There are dozens of articles, too many to post here. Check these:

Next: Syria. Believe it or not, the small Christian population in Syria is fearful of a regime change, as the Assad regime has protected Christians much like Saddam Hussein and Hosni Mubarak did. But, the Arab Spring is changing everything, and our president has called for Assad to step down. ( sound familiar) And, in the wake of his departure, Christians know they are in for the same fate as Iraq, Egypt and other places.

Next: Believe it or not, Great Britain. As the radical Muslim population grows in England so does the threat of Islamic domination over Christianity. To understand this better, one only has to view this short video in the UK:

This blog could easily be ten times the length if I would include the bulk of attacks and intimidation toward Christians throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, but you get the picture. While we like to think ourselves as “tolerant” people wishing to living a peaceful coexistence, that has to be a two-sided goal, or it will never work.

As the Islamic population grows and becomes more emboldened with power in the United States, we will see more of what is happening in places like England, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and France where they have over 750 Islamic enclaves which are “no-go zones” for French authorities. Sharia is the law.

It is essential that Americans get their heads out of the sand and realize the long-term goals of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is to Islamize the west. That’s not anyone’s imagination, it is written in their own secret, unearthed documents, many of which I’ve revealed in past blogs. Why do we ignore tham?

That question is for you, Mr. President. You are a Christian, correct?

Muhammed decreed, from his death bed, that Islam should be spread throughout the world. Islamic fundamentalists have been following that order to this very day, and there is little the “peaceful” and “non-fundamentalist” are doing to stem the tide.

No, I am not a Christian. But that matters not. I am conscious enough to know the threats against non-Muslims are looming down the road. It won’t be long.

Wake up America.

A question for you.
what is common in both article?

atleast, follow the ideology of the person in the middle of your avatar.

. . .
a similar thread has also been opened by the OP so i am posting the same ans i gave there.

i am a Christian , and in 36 yrs of my life have yet to face persecution . yes i am not denying there are stray incidents but its usually we Indians who sort out the matter amongst our-selfs. we bring it to the notice of the media or the minorities commission .
we actually don't need false concern and tears from across the border.
