American actor, producer, and screenwriter, John Paul Cusack’s recent tweet has caused an alarming number of people to discuss the similarities between Modi and Hitler.
The celebrity posted picture of one of the most feared historic figures, Adolf Hitler alongside the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Both the personalities seem to be wearing similar outfits, which may just be a coincidence, but Cusack clearly refrained from commenting on his own comparison.
Hitler was a German politician and leader of the Nazi Party. He rose to power as the chancellor of Germany in 1933, and as Führer in 1934. During his dictatorship from 1933 to 1945, he initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland on September 1, 1939.
Where as Modi has rose through similar tangents of fame, ever since he revoked article 370 and denied the Indian Occupied Kashmir of its special status. Following this the Indian PM also passed a citizenship amendment bill which prevents muslims from attaining Indian nationality – while also creating an alarming situation for muslims who are already Indian nationals.
Simply the fact that his bill has made religion a basis for attaining nationality provoked protests in India, making even his followers, think twice.
Nevertheless, here’s what Twitterati had to say about the Cusack’s comparison:
