Actions not words needed for Balochistan peace

June 17, 2013 Abrar Saeed 3
ISLAMABAD - Jahmoori Watan Party (JWP) Balochistan Chapter President Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti has said that the Nawaz government must take confidence-building measures to bring lasting peace in the restive Balochistan and he would convey these feelings of Baloch people when he would meet the Prime Minister in next few days.

In an exclusive chat with The Nation here on Sunday, Shahzain, the grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti, regretted that the successive governments in Islamabad had disappointed the Baloch nationalists and no tangible measures were ever taken to ameliorate their sufferings.

When asked about the measures the Baloch nationalists wanted to see on part of the federal government, the provincial chief of JWP said that first of all the ongoing military operation in Balochistan should be stopped forthwith, the work on three cantonments - Sui, Kohlu and Gwadar - should be stopped as promised earlier, issue of missing persons should be resolved as per the satisfaction of the people of Balochistan, agencies role in the province be curtailed and mutilated bodies issue should also be resolved.

He also demanded end to the no-go areas in the province and the internally displaced people of Balochistan should be allowed to go back to their native areas." About 1.5 lakh people of Bugti tribe are forced out of their native areas of Dera Bugti and Sui, while the people of other areas of Balochistan were forced to live as migrants in adjoining parts of Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

He made it clear that without winning over the confidence of the general people of Balochistan things could not be normalised.

To a question, he said that the PML-N leadership had pledged to help repatriate his tribesmen after coming into power and now he was here to remind Nawaz of his promise and was quite optimistic in this regard.

To another question, Bugti said that couple of hundred members of his tribe were staging a token protest outside the Prime Minister's Office but regretted that no government functionary had approached them except the newly elected Balochistan Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik who had visited their protest camp but did not give any assurance to them, except that he would take up the matter with authorities concerned and would try to convince them for their repatriation to their areas.

To a question about his party's boycott of the elections Shahzain Bugti said that yes they boycotted the elections because when the candidate and his voters were not allowed to even go to their constituency how the elections could be dubbed as fair and transparent.

He further said that the results were manipulated in Balochistan and the people of choice would be brought in power.

To a question about Dr. Abdul Malik, a leader of Baloch nationalist party, becoming the Chief Minister of the province Shahzain Bugti simply said that only time and his performance would tell about his government's success or otherwise.

To a question about the trial of Gen. Pervez Musharraf in his grandfather's murder case, Shahzain Bugti said that a fair trial in the case would definitely ameliorate the wounds of Baloch nationalists.

Shahzain Bugti said that it was ironical that the federal government wanted to talk with those who are holding arms and not even accepting the writ of the government and not engaging those in dialogue who fully respect the writ of the government and just wanted to live in peace in their homeland.

He suggested that government should first resolve the problems of those who wanted to live within the ambit of the constitution of Pakistan and are patriot like other countrymen and then try to rope in those who are engaged in the armed struggle against the state of Pakistan.

To a question he said that the successive governments in Pakistan had done just lip service and no concrete steps were taken on ground for the welfare and betterment of the most backward province of the country.

Referring to the package announced by previous government led by Pakistan People's Party Shahzain Bugti said that on paper the whole plan seemed marvellous but on ground the condition of the Balochi people had turned worse from bad and the general confidence of people in the Federal Government had badly shattered.

A good article from the Dawn Blog.

It appears that Muslims don't need Israel or the crusaders for their destruction. I have often pondered over the questions raised in this article but came to the realization that this is not new. After all 3 out of the 4 Rashideen Khalifas were assassinated by the Muslims.

Muslims started fighting among themselves during the reign of Hazrat Ali (RA). Yazeed martyred grandson of the holy Prophet (PBUH). Hajjaj bin Yusuf hanged Adbullah bin Zubair, grandson of Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) from the gates of Kaaba. Mansoor Al Saffah killed 80 princes of the Omayyad house in one go. Suppose the 'Fratricide' in ingrained among the Muslims.

As long as corrupt, incompetent & spineless CJ is sitting there will be no peace in Balochistan province he will put all the rented terrorist acted blames on Pak Army & the Intel Agencies to protect the rented terrorists.

The truth is there can be no negotiations with these rented terrorists because openly supported by US, India & allies. Things became worse in PPP time because they made a mess of Balochistan province deliberately & opened Balochistan province to the world.

To solve Balochistan province issue only Military operation should be done against these rented terrorists & these rented terrorists should be killed & wiped out completely with their Leaders or Commanders. No rented terrorist should be spared, once it is done then peace will enter Balochistan province.

Today Democrazy, CJ, rented terrorists stand in the way of complete peace not only in Balochistan province but throughout Pakistan.

and the best action would be to carpet bomb the BLA into oblivion
