ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said Tuesday everybody in the country is free to speak except him. He was delivering an emotional speech in the Senate. Chairman Nayyer Bokhari said nobody was stopping you from speaking. You can present your view remaining in legal limits.

Abidi said in an emotional tone, “the whole country is afraid of a person, who is afraid of me.” He said if ban was not lifted from him, he would get hold of scoundrels and bring them to face. On this the chairman said when the interior minister would come, report would be called from him. Abidi said according to a report there were 1700 murderers in the country who belonged to Madaris. “Why attacks are being launched against us”, he asked.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday dismissed the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case and withdrew the contempt notice against Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, DawnNews reported.

A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed the hearing over the NRO verdict implementation case.

During the hearing, Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek requested the court to dismiss the case and said that the letter, written by attorney general of Pakistan and sent via diplomatic channel, had been received by Swiss attorney general.

The court’s ruling said that its order was implemented in view of the instructions given in Paragraph 178 of the SC’s judgment dated 16th December, 2009, in the case of Dr Mobashir Hasan.

Talking to media representative after the hearing, Farooq H. Naek said that the court’s decision was a victory for justice and democracy adding that the government implemented every directive of the supreme court.

Moreover, he said that the letter was not written forcibly rather in accordance of supreme court instructions.
