Kings and Generals historical animated documentary series on the history of medieval era, as well as the history of Islam and early Muslim Expansion continues with a video on Abd al-Rahman I - the last member of the Umayyad dynasty, who after the defeat of his clan during the Abbasid Revolution, escaped to North Africa and from there to Spain, establishing the Emirate of Cordoba and becoming the Father of the Muslim Spain - Al-Andalus.

The only obstacle at that time were Muslims themselves-they began sectarian fighting

True.
France wasnt exactly that big of a prize at that time anyway.

Historians still disagree on Tours, if it was a real battle or more a skirmish, a full invasion or raiding party. Contemporary muslim historians wrote very little about it, which suggests it was a raid that developed into a skirmish and not a full scale invasion force.

Not pushing further into Europe, and poorly treating non-Arabs will remain the two biggest Umayyad blunders
