In the year 1946-47, Miss Fatima Sughra, a 14 years old girl, pulled down the Union Jack from the Civil Secretariat Lahore and replaced it with a Pakistani flag.

52 years later in the year 1999 at Kargil, a young Captain, Qazi Jawad Ikram (Shaheed), refused to retreat from his post captured by enemy and opposed the idea of leaving the Pakistani flag at the mercy of enemy, instead he went back alone in order to retrieve the National flag , he lost his life in this process.

As long as this country continues to give birth to such people, there will always be hope! Here is to hoping that may Allah bring Pakistan through these adverse times, a hundred times stronger and united.

Her Pakistaniyat lives in us to take it forward and onwards to our glorious destination.
