Seeing the actions of posters on a thread about posters creating false Ids to thank ppl I was wondering what would stimulate a poster more to a post made - A Thank you or a New Post Quote ?

I am happier on knowing someone has quoted me as it would / may lead to an exchange of views - sometimes even the angry kind. Other times one learns something new.

It is gratifying to know someone has responded beyond a click as he/ she would have read & applied himself on what was written.

Right or wrong does not matter neither do differences in opinion.

when I am fresh and active I look forward for quotes as well as thank.
if I am tiered of long discussion then if I see a notification, I wish it's a thank rather than a invitation for another round :p:.

Although I am new here, I seem to find quotes more stimulating than thanks. A thank is somewhat like a real-life pat on the back, it reassures one but that's pretty much it. A quote can either agree, disagree or append to your original post. Hence, it can be reassuring, disagreeable (perhaps even angering), and informative. You get more juice out of it.

(Also, why am I not allowed to vote in the poll? Is it perhaps only for senior members?)

may be only for full members..

I'm not peaceful or patriot anymore since a long ago. I'm a war junkie...so figure it out!!! :smokin: i used my vote...the quotes from heaven...:)

Thank means someone agrees with me, this is stimulating. If some one quotes me, I will reply again and if I am thanked again for that reply, then the new thank is more stimulating. So thank is the ultimate stimulus for me, but it comes through "replies and quotes".

I think you need to have 100-200 posts to do that. :undecided:

It depends on the context in which a PDF member is being thanked for. Similarly, Quotes depend on what kind of a response are we getting? Trolls? new ideas? Opinions?

In the end, both of them exist here for some reasons, go figure ;) ..

Given the number of new members who have joined since this poll was created, its being out out once again for views of posters here.

I find a quote more stimulating, intellectually....:-)
A thank is better then nothing but a quote is better than a thank IMHO....:coffee:
