As per latest data made available by National AIDS Control Organisation, the India HIV estimates 2008-09 highlight an overall reduction in adult HIV prevalence and HIV incidence (new infections) in India. Adult HIV prevalence at national level has declined from 0.41% in 2000 to 0.31% in 2009. The estimated number of new annual HIV infections has declined by more than 50% over the past decade.

No mate I never said that, don't misinterpret. I merely asked the other guy how does a practising Muslim who is supposedly misinformed according to him is prone to have HIV infection?. This thread apparently deals sexual transmission and not the parenteral or others, I wouldn't have asked for decipher if we were discussing it generally.

WHn the article was written a few years ago, it was a crime to be gay in India. So when homosexuals get AIDS, they dont go to Doctors, because if the Doctor asks them how they got it, they get reported to the police and end up in jail. So they dont see a Doctor about their disease, and end up spreading it to more people who they have sexual relations with. After homosexuality has been decriminalized in India, this problem no longer occurs and they can get treatment instead of being scared of arrested for seeing a Doctor.
