China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States.

Skinned Alive

When undercover investigators made their way onto Chinese fur farms, they found that many animals are still alive and struggling desperately when workers flip them onto their backs or hang them up by their legs or tails to skin them. When workers on these farms begin to cut the skin and fur from an animal's leg, the free limbs kick and writhe. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of animals who struggle too hard to allow a clean cut.

When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on the heap of carcasses who had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera.

Before they are skinned alive, animals are pulled from their cages and thrown to the ground; workers bludgeon them with metal rods or slam them on hard surfaces, causing broken bones and convulsions but not always immediate death. Animals watch helplessly as workers make their way down the row.

Background

Undercover investigators from Swiss Animal Protection/EAST International toured fur farms in China's Hebei Province, and it quickly became clear why outsiders are banned from visiting. There are no penalties for abusing animals on fur farms in China—farmers can house and slaughter animals however they see fit. The investigators found horrors beyond their worst imaginings and concluded, "Conditions on Chinese fur farms make a mockery of the most elementary animal welfare standards. In their lives and their unspeakable deaths, these animals have been denied even the simplest acts of kindness."

Living Hell

On these farms, foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals pace and shiver in outdoor wire cages, exposed to driving rain, freezing nights, and, at other times, scorching sun. Mother animals, who are driven crazy from rough handling and intense confinement and have nowhere to hide while giving birth, often kill their babies after delivering litters.

Is There a Skeleton in Your Closet?

The globalization of the fur trade has made it impossible to know where fur products come from. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Even if a fur garment's label says it was made in a European country, the animals were likely raised and slaughtered elsewhere—possibly on an unregulated Chinese fur farm.

The only way to prevent such unimaginable cruelty is never to wear any fur. Take PETA's pledge to be fur-free today!

IS this for real? We spend hundreds of billions on internal security and you are signing a petition. Why don't you be like the tibetans, protest a million miles away from our central government and hope for a miracle.

Though I will say this, Animal cruelty is no joke and should be stopped. I won't go as far as to say no fur, but to kill the animals in a humane way is better. We can afford to raise the price a bit.

.
This is sad news.
The only way to put an end to this is to ban fur everywhere.

.
human, when will you take off the hypocritical coat, and show real yourself?
how can one accuse the way others kill animals when he still eat eggs, meet, still use insecticide?
if all lives are equal ,why don't you share the voting right with cows,sheep,donkey...?
Animal Protectors are the MOST stupid human being of the world, especially the westerners, they do nothing when their govt bomb other countries and people every year ,they have ZERO mercy on human, while crying for some animals, stupid.

.
We, Taiwanese are very experienced with such horrible news from mainland.

I just want to say, don't believe anything you read, fall into the trap and judge mainlanders easily. Most of it are made with propaganda purpose, written with "special narrative".

Actually, the reality is very different than what it said, very very different.

The reality of China....China is one of the lowest crime rate in the world, no pornographic and most of the people are still very pure. The real bad guy is the writer of such story.

Bestiality, zoophilia discussed at Chennai conference - Times Of India

Bestiality, zoophilia discussed at Chennai conference

TNN Sep 6, 2010, 12.41am IST

CHENNAI: Stories about a group of young boys having sex with buffaloes in rural south India, upwardly mobile women tutoring dogs in intercourse, and a group of frequent flyers travelling in search of stallions tumbled out of doctors' case sheets after US-based sex therapist Hani Miletski spoke about bestiality and zoophilia at the 26th National Conference of Sexology being held in the city.

The session, however, did not arrive at a conclusion whether bestiality, which is punishable under Section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code, was right or wrong. In fact, the session raised more questions than it answered. Yet, everyone agreed bestiality is not rare in India though it remains a provocative and controversial issue.

Chennai-based sexologist Dr Narayana Reddy narrated a case where six months ago, a young couple from Vellore had visited him. ''The initial complaint was that the male had a problem of erectile dysfunction. They were married for five years but they never had sex. When I independently investigated, I found that 29-year-old man preferred buffaloes as partners. He had been having sex with female buffaloes for several years along with the boys in his age group,'' he said. In another case, he said, an upwardly mobile woman preferred to involve her pet dog whenever her spouse wanted to have sex.

''It's complicated to give solutions. For now, we ask our clients what they are looking for. On most occasions, it's an attempt to save the marriage and we help them,'' Reddy said. There are, however, no studies indicating statistics on sexual activity with animals in the country. But by practice, most sexologists say it's high in the rural areas and among those living in close proximity of livestock.

Miletski, who carried out a study on bestiality for a doctoral dissertation at the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, said there were two classes of people having sex with animals — the bestialites and zoophiles.

Four Orissa Youth held for bestiality

Four Orissa Youth held for bestiality
Express News Service: | Posted on Sep 13, 2011 at 10:49am IST Share .

COIMBATORE: In what could perhaps be the first case of bestiality registered here, four young migrant workers from Orissa were on Sunday night arrested for allegedly trying to indulge in "unnatural sex" with a calf at Chettipalayam, a rural hamlet. The youth P Nisdhar (18), E Binoth (19), A David (20) and D Pedohar (22) were semiclad and in an inebriated condition when they were arrested, on a complaint from a farmer D Dhandapani.

The complainant said that he had rushed out of his house on Perumal Kovil Street in Chettipalayam on hearing the cries of his oneandahalfyearold calf. He found the calf bleeding from its tongue. "The four youth were trying to run away but. We searched for them using a torch light and with the help of my son's friend we caught and tied them to a tree," Dhandapani said.

"We have booked the youth on charges of bestiality under Section 377 IPC (sexual activity against the order of nature), Section 429 IPC (mischief by killing or maiming cattle), Section 511 IPC (offence punishable with imprisonment) and Section 11 (1) of the PCA. The four were produced before a magistrate and remanded in Coimbatore Central Prison on Monday," Chettipalayam Inspector Ravikumar told the Express.

"When the calf had screamed, the youth began to beat it with a stick and stone seriously injuring it. In a bid to silence it, they had smashed its tongue with a stone," he added. All four had worked as contract labourers in a private quarry at Chettipalayam and had received their final wage settlement on Sunday. Initially, police action was delayed prompting local villagers to block the road for three hours seeking action.

Bestiality and Zoophilia

Bestiality was very common among the Hindus (Rosenfeld 1967), and portrayals of animal–human sexual contacts frequently appear in temple sculptures all over India (Rosenfeld 1967; Bullough 1976).

they forgot overfed ducks caged in small cabins to get more meat for fat burgers

.
Indians live in tropical areas, so they don't need fur garments like US people do. If they have a cold weather and if they are not living as slum dogs, I think they will buy fur garments and treat animals like this too. Because they have more disgusting things than any country does, people with low caste are born to dig dung. They treat their own people like low class animals while being proud of the biggest democracy.

. . .
To show there are far more pressing matters regarding animal abuse.

You do realise, that its is rarest of the rare cases, unlike the widespread fur farms!

You want people to look up bestiality incidents in China and post it here? Cause trust me its not that hard.

@Aeronaut please do something about this deliberate thread derailing tactics
