A new state for an ancient people?

Iran has vast territory with a population density of only 48.58 per sq km.

A tiny patch of land given up for a new Zoroastrian state wouldn't have much of an effect on Iran's economy, military or political power. But it would mean a lot for Zoroastrians - a country that can represent their ancient civilization, culture, preserve their way of life and prevent them going extinct.

Apart from the few native Zoroastrians, all the Parsis from India and Pakistan can reverse migrate to the new state and help create a viable state.

My opinion is that all stateless nations have a right to self-determination, autonomy and/or statehood.

Zoroastrians were flourishing in antiquity. But in 2017 I'm not certain it is wise or desirable to set up an artificial state based on ties that existed between a 1,000 year old community and a 1,000 year old state.

Why not seek a state for the Indus Valley folks as well? The Incas? The non-Arab egyptians? Phoenicians? Baad precedent and not a particularly practical one IMO

All it requires is the political will of a superpower. Once established, they can survive. They have survived Shah Ismail's savagery and extermination pogroms. Today's environment is much better.

They're partly free, not free, for example they can't become president, they can't promote their religion, they can't hold big cultural events, they can't build new temples. That's all because there is a certain religion which doesnt tolerate other voices, religions, critic, in any place on earth where it exists.

Being a Persian has nothing to do with what religion or god you worship, and nor was our empires and lands founded on basis of this religion for all or that religion for this group this and that unlike arabs.

Making a seperate land based on a religion when the ethnicity is the same is no different then the Zionist Project of moving european people of non semetic liniage into the middle east just because they CLAIM 3000 yeas ago they may have a drop of blood from a 3000 year old ancestor, and just because they are part of a religion they get a piece of land.

No, Iranians are iranians, a city for x religion that was old iranian religion or is new iranian religion means what, rest of iranians who dont practise that said religion can not claim their own heritage, this is roman bs.

They are free to practice their religion. That is what I said.

I have not heard of the "cultural events" and "new temples" restrictions. In any case, I don't see why new temples would be required in a dwindling Zoroastrian population.
