An Independence Day is arguably the most important day in the history of that country’s existence. However, this day has a deeper meaning and impact on a society – beyond its historical significance. A country’s population consists of people from different ethnicities, races, political or religious beliefs, and customs; therefore at any given holiday, one segment of the population might not be celebrating it at the same level of zeal. A country’s Independence Day brings the entire population together to celebrate their identity on a global scale – their national identity and their love for their country.
So we, on behalf of the United States Central Command, wish every Pakistani a joyous and memorable Independence Day.
Happy August 14!
