At the end of the Cold War in 1990, we never thought that in the near future, USN would have two lethal collisions like USS Fitzgerald and USS John McCain incidents, both due to navy's incompetence and fault, killing over a dozen sailors total. And now entire carrier group of USS Roosevelt rendered inoperable by failure to implement public health measures, squabbling chain of command, multiple firings to save face, low morale, one sailor already dead, etc.
The pace of US decline and decay is shocking to us.
