Dhaka, May 7 (bdnews24.com) The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published.
This year the over all pass rate is 86.37 percent and 82,215 students secured GPA-5.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over results of SSC and equivalent exams to prime minister Sheikh Hasina around 10:30am at the Ganabhaban, the prime minister's official residence.
The education secretary and chairmen of all education boards were present there.
Last year the over all pass rate was 82.31 percent in the SSC and equivalent tests and 76,749 students secured GPA-5.
Education minister will hold a press conference at the ministry around 1pm to release details of the results. The examinees will be able to check their results on the internet or through SMS text service from 2:30pm.
Candidates can get their results by typing space space space and send to 16222.
An estimated 1,420,057 students of 26,855 schools under 10 education boards including Dakhil and vocational board, sat for the secondary exams in Feb.
This year there were creative questions in all the papers except Bengali grammar, both the English papers, and mathematics.

Congrates to the students those who have passed and specially scored GDP 5. I would like to see around 1 million of them to pass HSC and atleast 20 percent to concentrate their study on science and engineering. It is quite possible.
This high number of pass and gpa 5 indicate that Bangladesh is really rising and students are focusing more on study. Around 10 year earlier only 700K students sat for the exam but now it crossed 1.4 million. Hope it will cross 2.5 million in a decade as Bangladesh has achieved 99% enrollment rate in primary and secondary level.
